I put my rebuilt shocks on Friday night and rode all weekend. Well, their is a great difference. Simply put, it is better. Smoother, softer when needed, and smoother through the progression on harder landings.

I would say, 10 to 20% better than stock, where Elkas or something are 25% better. In other words, my frends Elkas are still better, smoother, but not by $1700. If you are a top racer...go with the best shocks you can afford, everyone else, get your shocks rebuilt.

I was able to hit rough terrain harder, more securely, and on hard landings, no bounce, just soaked up. On one jump in particular, I think it saved me from going over the bars. I landing a bit short on a table top which had a higher landing area. I bounced a little, but the bike stayed level as I landing on the down side. I think in stock form, I may have had a high back end as I went onto the downslope and maybe would have been ass ended up from too much rebound. Now, I went through without a problem, and I was less fatigued.

It is really an awesome thing to have suspension that works well. I think of how my 02 Raptor felt, and how my LT is...night and day. It lets me ride at a far higher level, safely.

I-shock did the rebuild. It cost $270 for all three shocks, plus shipping. They even cleaned them for me.

No offense to anyone, but I'd say very few people on here will actually put a full longtravel setup through it's full strokes (except for crash pressure soaking). These LTR shock rebuilds impress the hell out of me...encourage EVERYONE to try a rebuild before swapping front/rear end components. 300$ is NOTHING for all three shocks...

Glad to hear you are satisfied

You are right no question. I do think you will get alittle plusher ride with a Long Travel setup. My a-arms and shocks will have more travel then stock rebuilt. With this extra travel you will be able to run it softer on the top. Plus the BLING factor.

Thats what i've tried telling people in the past, but know everybody who had a YFZ didin't even think to try the stockers. Well i know why, Every quad in the past before these 450's needed a crap load of aftermarket stuff to race, then people got use to spending the extra money.

I dont know about GT Thunder stock rebuilds, but my friend sent his LT Elka shocks to them for a revalve and respring since Elka screwed them up really bad. Simply put, they are insane. I could NOT bottom them out even when i intentionally flat landed jumps, but yet they soaked up the choppy stuff way better then i could have expected for shocks that have such good bottoming resistance. GTT may be a little pricier then some, but they know their stuff and you will not be disappointed.
