Here's a link to a Gunner kill switch that will work on the Ltr. It's actually a universal (normally closed switch that will fit the Z400 as well.

Just to clarify the difference between a normally open and a normally closed switch.

With a normally open kill switch you tap into the coil wire without breaking the wire and what happens is that when you pull the lanyard out it grounds out the coil.

With a normally closed kill switch you tap into a 12v line that feeds the electrical system by cutting the wire in two (which breaks the flow of electricity) and connecting two different wires to each end which go into the kill switch and when you pull the lanyard out it just breaks the flow of electricity.

Some may say "So What". Well if you ground out a Coil you run the risk of damaging your electrical system. I know Dyna recommends against the normally open kill switches in their instructions.

It's true...opening the circuit is kind of like blowing a fuse..lights out...no problemo:D

Grounding is more like blowing the circuit breaker...mucho bad:(

I agree with you on the normally closed switch. I just looked at the link and I was wondering if you know why it has three wires? Not sure why it would need a ground. I have a Pingel switch on my LTR and it only has two wires. I assumed this one would be the same.

All you have to do is tap into one of the wires that run to the stock kill switch on the bars. Either one it doesn't matter. Just cut that wire and splice the ends onto the two wires on the Pingel switch. I can't remember what color the wires are right off hand, it's been a little while since I did it. But that is all you have to do. I will try to look at the colors tomorrow and let you know.

Yep, Kyle is the one who squared me away.

Hey Kyle, Any idea what the ground wire is for? It really does nothing that I'm aware of.

Guys, Just cut the orange/white wire in two, and install the two wires from the Gunner to these wires and attach the ground and you're set.

Still not sure why there is a ground though.

Same here but I"m still puzzled.

I do have a theory though. I noticed that when I was checking the ohms on the wires with the spoon in and out that the contact doesn't actually go completely away. Makes me wonder if some of that is going to the ground wire when the spoon is pulled. There has to be a reason for the little black blob that the wires pass through and I think that's the reason.
