OK well heres the deal, me and my friends want to go back to LS this year, but the only time we can do it is around thanksgiving. How big of a crowd is there the weekend before turkey day? Whats the weather like, is it pretty cold around that time? Whats the best spot to camp? As you can probably figure out I pretty much know nothing about the place.

Just going from previous experiences but I will tell you the crowds out there really seem to be increasing...

Crowd wise around T-Day is about 65-75% capacity.

Weather is hit and miss, last year day temps in the 70's...two-three years ago we had a little snow.

Best spot to camp is all in your perception...if you are younger and like to be where the action is in camp then go to LSPS privately owned camping or camp by the south gate. If you like it a little more quiet go for Cowboy camp or the north campground.

The south gate drops you right out where all the drag racing occurs...the north gate drops you out where the bigger dunes are and it takes 8-12 minutes to drive from one gate to the other.

Yep...Rob hit it right on the head with that one.
If you like to party like a rockstar like its 1999. Then south gate is for you my friend. If you just want to chill with family and friends, then Cowboy and North camp are for you. At north camp the gate is right there and take you to BUTTERCUP..the biggest dune out there. And the trails just past it. But south camp had the drags like he mentioned before where we usually spend 75% of out time. I never been on turkey day but weather is a hit or miss that's for sure. To bad you couldnt make it to the meet's this month.

Yeah I wish i could come this month but since im a midwestern ******* farmer we have harvest this time of year and im SUPER busy. I think last time we stayed at the south camp and it was pretty sweet. And all the people in our group are gonna be between the age of 20 and 18 so i think some partying might be in order. Hopefully I can meet some fellow HQ members out there. I need to order me up some HQ stickers so I can be easily identified.
