Hey guys, we've talked about doing this for a while and I'm willing to get it together now if we can get enough people in on it. Group buy will be on Hiper Technology rims (Front, Rear, or both - Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Polaris, Bombardier, Gas Gas, Arctic Cat, ATK). Hiper rims are considered the most advanced technology when it comes to ATV rims, and are made of EXTREMELY durable carbon fiber material.

Here's the scoop:

I called Angie at Hiper Technology, and she said we need to purchase 12 rims total to get a discount. The discounted rate is 20% off each rim, and when you're looking at 135$+ per rim; you can save some huge cash.

Here's a list of general cost direct from hiper vs. cost if you get in on the group buy. For all available models please visit this link:

http://www.hiper-technology.com/catalog/wh...sp?categoryId=1

REAR WHEELS

8 x 8 Rear, 3 + 5 offset, Dual Beadlock - Regular Price of 197$/Rim - Group Buy price of 157.60$/Rim
9 x 9 Rear, 3 + 6 offset, Dual Beadlock - Regular Price of 218$/Rim - Group Buy price of 174.40$/Rim
9 x 9 Rear, 4 + 5 offset, Dual Beadlock - Regular Price of 197$/Rim - Group Buy price of 157.60$/Rim
10 x 9 Rear, 3 + 6 offset, Single Beadlock - Regular Price of 194.50$/Rim - GB Price of 155.60$/Rim
10 x 10 Rear, 4 + 6 offset, Dual Beadlock - Regular Price of 206.50$/Rim - GB Price of 165.20$/Rim

FRONT WHEELS

10 x 5 Front, 3 + 2 offset, Non Beadlock - RP of 133$/Rim - GB Price of 106.40$/Rim
10 x 5 Front, 3 + 2 offset, Single Beadlock - RP of 182$/Rim - GB Price of 145.60$/Rim
10 x 5 Front, 4 + 1 offset, Non Beadlock - RP of 133$/Rim - GB Price of 106.40$/Rim
10 x 5 Front, 4 + 1 offset, Single Beadlock - RP of 182$/Rim - GB Price of 145.60$/Rim

I'm going to order two front rims for myself so all we'd need then is 10 more rims. If you've been putting off ordering because of the price, now's the time to do it. These ARE the best wheels on the market, and very well worth the cost (especially with discounted rates). Look great, have a locking plate that prevents tire from falling off the rim, and are EXTREMELY durable.

I've heard they are lighter then other beadlocks, is there any truth to this? Any proof?

When would the money be due for this group buy?
[/b]
I would imagine they are definitely lighter then other beadlocks...this is from their website comparing them to .125 aluminum wheels (non-beadlock):

Light Weight: HiPer Racing Wheels are typically much lighter than similar sized .160 aluminum wheels and about the same weight as .125 thick aluminum wheels. In addition, the weight distribution of our wheels results in lower rotating inertia. This means you accelerate faster while the overall lighter weight means your suspension can be more responsive.

3-Times Stronger than Aluminum: HiPer wheels are a modular design with the halves manufactured from DuPont Zytel CDV805 a conductive polyamide resin modified with aerospace grade carbon fiber for improved strength. HiPer Racing Wheels are typically 3 to 5 times stronger than top of the line aluminum wheels.

I actually thought about you when I posted this...was hoping I could snake it in before you had ordered :(

There's a possibility of having 10 rims sold already (including mine), not concrete but it's a good chance.

As far as a time frame goes, I was hoping we could get the order placed by next Monday which would be July 17th but I'm not sure that's possible. I can post a more accurate time frame tomorrow on when the order will be placed, but if you want to get in on this buy, I'd say get your nickels and dimes together as quick as possible!

I'm considering placing this order soon to get rims out right away and maybe try to get another one going maybe a month later for those who cannot collect the cash in time for this one. All depends on how serious everyone who has contacted me is, but I'd say we should be able to get this rolling soon.

Still trying to get ahold of a few people here, but it sounds like we may have about 16 sold now if most people are serious. That's awesome!

Just a quick note here, I'm not sure how many of you have done the group buy thing before. HiPer knows the order will be coming soon so what we're going to do is make me the main contact name through HiPer so when it comes time for everyone to call in and place your orders; do so normally but make sure you mention my name "Jake Hengel" and LTR450hq so they know you're in on the group buy. They'll then add your orders off of my contact name, but will drop-ship everything to your individual addresses (and I told her you'd all be using your own credit cards, so let's not try and make me pick up any of the bills :p )

Ok guys, was talking to Mike Anderson (Idaho_LTR) a little bit earlier today and he gave me the name of a guy over in PA that sells hipers consistantly at the same price we're looking at for this group buy.

The guy who he gave me the name of is Highland Motorsports (assumed spelling) Was asking how Matt was able to sell them for so cheap and he said between the microsprint cars and ATV rims he sees about 200 hipers come in and out each month, so his costs for each set is REALLY cheap.

Now, what I'm wondering here is if we can just each individually order through Matt for that discounted price, then it may be worth it to just do that instead of going through the process of the group buy. I personally haven't heard of Highland myself, but as soon as Mike gives me the thumbs up that his order was recieved I may just order through them as well. Seems a bit too good to be true, but hell if it works it works

Thoughts/opinions?

Does this Highland Motorsports have a web page to get some info about them?
[/b]
I was concerned about his legitamacy as well, always believed that if it seems to good to be true it probably is. I couldn't find a website personally, but I forgot to ask when I was talking to him

I've had a few people now tell me that he's true (thanks for piping in as well Derno), and if Mike's HiPer's come in with no problems; I will be ordering from Matt.

Of course, Matt should answer

(717) 226-6022

Again - I have no personal purchasing experience with him yet, once Mike's order comes in I will feel comfortable enough to order and can give personal opinion then.

Just talked to Matt He told me for the front 4+1 single locks are $300.00 shipped and the Rears are $330.00 shipped for dual locks. All 4 for $630.00 shipped.

The group deal adds up to $606.40 for the same wheels. How much is Hiper charging for shipping?

My guess is the costs will be the same after HiPer's shipping charges are added in *unless they throw shipping in free of course* I'll give them a call tomorrow and post back

Any update on your order Mike?

Okay, here's the low-down.

Prices with this discount and the prices on the hiper site DO NOT include shipping...in general each rim will add about 7$ shipping to the order but the more you order the less shipping is per rim (ground shipping)

The prices with this group-buy would basically translate out to be the same price as Matt from highland sells them. Mike got back to me soon after I asked the question before and his came in just as advertised.

Right now, I really can't see even trying to get the group-buy together if we can all just order individually from Matt at Highland? Would be alot of work, and we wouldn't get any quicker service or a discounted rate over his prices

From my stand-point, anyone looking might as well order from Matt at your leisure?

edited later:
Ordered 2 front hipers from Matt, and they came in just as promised. Great to work with
