what do you guys think of this? Its just a cardboard template, but if it will work, My brother will be making them out of aluminum, painting them black, and drilling some holes(just for looks, and so mud doesnt get caught up in it) Its going to be a lot cheaper than buying nerfs with heelguards, now I can just buy the regular nerfs and put these heel guards on. Tell me what you guys think of this...

i think it looks good, better than the huge stock heel guards, i think urs might need a little more shape to em, there pretty straight, no curves or nothin, or atleast it doesnt seem like it from the pics. they look good tho.

Might be tough...those things will probably have to be 16ga or better to give your fender the support it needs not to crack... :(

Dig into it..."explore the space"

Lets see what ya come up with :D

I thought about what fast rider said, and i've redone them. Also for more support i've decided to weld 1/4" aluminum solid stock tubing around the out side adge, as well use that for a frame bracket. Similar to the IMS heel guards for the z400 and other models.

haha the ones that dont like them are probably the rich boys that have the blingstars(500$ nerfs) Well I dont have any money to spend on nerfs with heel guard and peg, so my brother is just going to make me these heel guards. I think its a sweet idea, and it will turn out awesome. Going to be painting them black, getting black regular nerfs and a black bumper(going with a black theme obviously) I think it will turn out sick for home-made, and let me remind you, FREE heel guards!! Feels good not having to pay money for them!

Make them wider and add a lip on the sides, you have to remeber the stock heelgaurds are wide for a reason and that is because of the width of the wheels. I would make them a tad wider just so they *fit* the lines of the bike.
