Didn't really get anything for my birthday except for a, for sure that I will be racing M-X again for the first time in 4 years, almost to the day!!! Got an invitation to ride an ATK at a local, close to my hometown, Great Lakes Quad Racing Series Event!!! Did anyone see the ad on Atvscene about ATK racers wanted??? I responded just because I had that C-Dale ride locally here 5 years ago! Now this guy who is heading up this Wis. regional area/ National, proposed ATK team support want's me to try out their ATK whatever it's called full-on racer(MOTO-440), I rode basically a stock "Cannibal" back in 2001, with a couple of slip-on parts and that was it!
I will be way out of shape , BUT I am going to give it a try!!! They want to see how I stack up against the Open"A" riders that are out there now,LOL!!! We shall see! I turned 39 yesterday,LOL!!! It should be fun!!!

Ended up with a 2nd and 6th with the HONZUKI in the Vet"A"+25 class for 4th overall, and a 2nd place finish in the Vet +35 class on the ATK!!! It was almost like the Cannibal I rode, but with ATK upgrades it was deff. not a MOTO440, it had diff. a-arms with moto type front shocks, good power stock basically, supposedly a TRUE 450? I pulled the holeshot in the 1st moto on it and lead for 3 laps, of 4,LOL!!! Second moto's got rained out,
Funny thing, the guy who's quad it was, had a Suz. LTZ400 thumb throttle housing on it, and I couldn't believe it when I would get to wide open throttle gripping the bars tight, the thumb throttle blade would go over my index and middle finger pinching them between the grip and the thumb blade!!! WOW!!! I would basically have to yank my hand off the bars at almost wide-open to get it to shut down! Has anyone else with an LTZ400 ever ran into this problem??? I don't know why the guy had the LTZ housing on there, but I know it won't work for me! My stock LT250r housing, thumb blade is not so far away from the grip and there is no-way you can get your fingers pinched between! Just a strange feeling going into a jump and not being able to control launched speed!!! Just like the throttle sticking wide open or something, when you let off!!!
Had fun otherwise, and the ATK deal is still about a month away, finalizing plans with the Factory and all, and pieceing this Team effort thing together I guess? Will keep you posted though, might not have to get that 2007 LTR450,LMAO!!! :huh:

Glamis Duner, I have never ridden in the Dunes, we have a dune ride spot(about a 7 hour drive from my home area in Upper Mich.) here in Lower Mich. called Silver Lake on the Eastern shore of Lake Michigan, I've never even been there. Always out racing and never any time! I don't think there's Palm Tree's there, but I bet we rival that awesome sunset like in your Sig. pic. here. Would like to make it to Cali. dunes sometime before I'm done with this sport!!! Huh! Would like to make it to Cali. period, never been out that far west yet, again NO time ,LOL!!!
