I may get some black wheels but I couldn't find them in the same size as stock. So, I will try to powder coat the stock wheels.

Later I may get new tires/wheels and might have to go one inch larger on the back tires because of the rim sizes available.

I get worried I will lose something, or maybe gain. I am not clear what happens when you change tire size. Can someone explain a bit for me?

Thanks.

you will gain a little top end and lose a little bottom end but you can correct this by going to a smaller counter shaft sprocket or a larger rear sprocket.

I am running 20's in the rear, more clearance in the desert, and a 13 T front sprocket. I was running against my buddy with the stock 18's and 14 T. They seem real close to the same. We even ran with GPS. He ran 70.4 and I ran 71.7 MPH. I may have been on a little flatter part of the river bottom. They feel about the same. Both have pea shooter out, lid off and c/b.

71 mph...cool. I thought our bikes might not make that speed. It doesn't matter to me because I have never had it that fast on the track or trail. Maybe I have been close, but not all out very often.

When I was at a cross country race last month, they had a large flat lake bed and a radar. They clocked my LTR at 74MPH and that was before I had the cherry bomb with the extra RPMs. I was running 20" rear tires with stock gearing.

great, so it's not far behind the other 450's cause my yfz reached 78.8 mph with HMF pipe and stock tires.I bet it would've lost a few in the top if i tried it with my holeshots and i have never gotten into 5th gear on a mx track so top speed won't matter even if it could go over 80.
