I was just wondering if you all could tell me what kind of problems you are having with your LTR's and/or what are your opinions on the quad? I currently have a fully TT/MX 450r and am thinking about buying an LTR as a spare/practice quad and just want to be sure that i'm not buying a lemon.. If/when i get one, i will be doing full suspension mods and also i will be putting on a full system exhaust, PIM, and Cherry bomb right off the bat. I like the look and idea that Suzuki is bringing to the market, and would like to try one out..

Thanks for all responses!!!!! ~Jay

There are no major problems with the Ltr 450. The tranny noise has no grand end result so i would suggest it is part of its run in as the noise goes away. The chassis crack, well all bikes have been recalled and all new bikes have been fixed during production.
Any other faults are random electrical, my own being a faulty CDI, there are a 4-5 that I am aware of with starter issues but nothing to suggest any further recalls.
Im thinkin that you are pretty safe wilh the LTR............
And as for the spare bike bit,....I think not old mate! but you will decide for yourself.

Basically what i mean by a spare is that i race dirttrack with my 450r and i would just use the LTR as a practice bike on my mx track at home. I use my 450r right now as a racer and then turn it over to mx during to week to rip up the mx course and i just hate switching it all around all the time. I've wanted to try and LTR but i'm just scared at the reliability....

Yeah I gotcha, different horses for different courses.
As for the reliability side of things, the Ltr has a few small issues but nothing I would consider to be a major problem. By now most problems have reared their uguly heads, been realised and these have been brought up on this forum, discussed and in 9 times out of 10 (if that many problems) have been fixed.
At the end of the day no quad is really more reliable than any other, it just comes down to personal preferance, background checks to see what problems the particular bike has had( as ALL quads have problems of some description), severity of problem and cost to repair.

If you do want it for a practice bike than you can't go wrong with the LTR, out of the box and with a couple of CHEAP mods she is ready to go (for practice anyway).
