14/36 is stock.....it is very long. Trail I would stay with stock gearing and dragging I think it is just trial and error to find the best setup for you. JMO I am going to running 13/38 this weekend to see how that does. From what I have heard that is the perfect duning setup.

Gearing is all up to the rider...there's no exact gearing that anyone could recommend, everyone prefers a different setup :) Would recommend trying as many various combos as possible

It was alright when you were just riding around playing and it was pretty good on hill shots that were short...but if you are looking for a setup for racing the hills or even dragging, I would not recomend it. I don't know how much you weigh or what tire setup you have...but it was'nt working for me. I still could'nt pull a second gear start without bogging and I still did'nt have enough power to hold third up some of the longer hills. They are pretty steep out at St. Anns though. That could have been totally different if I had different tires. I was running 8 paddle extremes on 10" wheels. I might give this setup one more try before I pull it once I get my new tires on. I ordered up some 6 paddle extremes and 8" wheels. If it still does'nt work I will just switch the front sprocket back to a 14t. I'll even try the 13/36 if I can get an overnight trip out it before it snows.

I'M SO JELIOUS OF YOU CALI FOLKS!! YOUR SEASONS JUST STARTING.

I just got back from Gordon's well this weekend, I was running a 13t, with 6 paddle extremes (20" on a 8x9 rim) I weigh over 280 (I'm very tall) and could pull 3rd on "test" no problem. This is with basic mods(no lid, plug removed, and CB)

Felt great on the flats, even pretty good on the hills, but for duning more paddle wouldn't hurt( really more paddle and more gear) I was shifting alot in the dunes , mainly second, third, and a little clutch work

Once I add the HR1 shorty and PCIII (on order) it should get better on the torque side.

overall, the 20", 6 paddle extremes and the 13t should be sufficient for anyone who knows how to ride. I wouldn't spend too much time trying to make it perfect as there are too many compromises to consider when trying to make a do it all bike

And just my opinion, a 20x10x10 8 paddle would probably be a good duning set up with a 13/38 or 39

The 6 paddles worked well though, I plan on keeping them , and the8x 9" wide rim was a nice balance of width for duning, and still worked well for hills
