Gents:

Has anyone changed/cleaned the fuel filters in the gas tank?

I pulled the gas tank off last night and I think I know where the filters are, but I'm unsure how to get to them.

Also, is there any other fuel filters on the zook other than in the actual fuel pump....

Any help would be greatly appreciated guys....

Thanks

On the VERY bottom center of the tank is a swirl filter. The gas is poured onto it from the middle of the tank. To me, the filter looks exactly like a Wax applicator that come with Wax cans.

You will see a circular metal can that has a rubber guard around it. Take the guard off, remove the 6-8 phillips head screws, and it will reveal the filter.

When I saw the filter, all I did was take the air compressor and spray some of the dirt from the outside(didn't really worry about the inside too much)

That so far is the only filter of some type I have been able to find in the gas tank area. I'm preparing myself to start taking apart the fual pump to see what kind of filters I can find.

Good luck and don't be scared!

So the circular metal can is physically located in the gas tank (it is underneath the wax applicator -- LOL). Do you access this filter by going through the bottom of the gas tank? Because I did notice what appeared to be some sort of a seal that was used to hold the filter inside the gas tank in place. This seal is on the bottom (upside down bottom) of the gas tank. I should take this off to reach the fuel filter?

The only thing I have figured thus far is exactly where the filter is located, still don'y know if I go IN the gas tank (long screw driver) or go underneath the gas tank and access the filter in this manner????

Again, any help that would be offered is greatly appreciated!!! Nick, my name is Nick (Nick Robbins) as well and you are the expert and I am the dumbass on this particular issue... Hook me up with some additional info if possible.........
