Does anyone know if Fox is going to make their standard Float shock for the LT? I know they make the Float X but haven't seen or read anything about them offering the Float (non Evol). They weigh a little over a pound and half less each versus the Float X so you can save over 3 pounds buy going with standard Float. And sinse the factory shocks weight over 7 1/2 pounds each you can save over 9 pounds by going with the Float shocks! If anyone knows if their going to make them please let me know.

Would you mind if I asked what type of application you'd be using the floats for? Just out of curiousity...

Really, the floats are great shocks for drag racing quads; the extremely low weight is great and they can be adjusted well enough to meet the needs of most draggers.

Once it comes to a motocross quad however, the decreased weight isn't enough to off-set the less than satisfying damping conditions. The stock shocks perform much better than a pair of regular floats would on an LTR. Now, I'm not going to say you have to go buy a pair of Evol's to ride competitively if you're still looking to cut the weight; but I'd highly recommend it. Honestly, the better performance from stock LTR shocks would perform better on a motocross track than cutting 5lbs; plus then you don't have to spend a dime.

Either way, I'm not going to talk you out of anything I just don't want to see you be unsatisfied with a new purchase.

To answer your question, I'm not sure of anyone directly that sells the regular floats. However, I know that Cernics Racing is a Fox Suspension dealer and would be able to answer your question in a respectable time if you contacted them.

First off, they actually save you over 9 pounds versus the stock shocks. Thats like adding an extra horse plus makes a big difference in the way the bike jumps and depending on what other weight saving changes you make, can make a big difference on how the bike handles. I actually own two LT's and have one set up for the dunes and one for the track. I have ridden quite a few shocks and can say with the weight you save and how they perform, the standard Floats can't be beat out on the dunes. Yes, on the track thats a different matter as I do have Evols on my other quad as the pound and half savings in weight each the Floats save over the Evols doesn't offset the advantages the Evols give you. But if your looking to purchase the Floats then your going to have to wait til next season anyway. I just got off the phone with a Fox rep and was told they will not offer their standard Float for the LT this year but that might change for 2007. All well, I guess the Evols will have to work in the dunes as well as the dirt!
