I picked up my LTR yesterday, all I mostly have to say is that it was amazing! More than what I expected.

This quad has incredible speed and torque. My two brothers and I made a track at my home and I rode a whole tank of gas out of the LTR the first day. My brother has a Yamaha yfz450 that is mostly stock and I waxed his ass all over the track. My other brother has a Gas Gas 450 with everything that you can put on one and he couldnt keep up either. Not to bad for a fully stock quad.

The only bad thing that I found on the LTR is the Transmission. Once you get into 3rd gear, it is hard as hell to hit 4th and then 5th gear. Its as if there is another neutral position between these two gears. I dont know what the deal is here. I guess it just takes some getting use to and because the atv was completley brand new and not even broke in yet.

those Gas Gas's I heard weren't that fast anyways....aren't they 6speed also?

Try adjusting the linkage, my YFZ had the same problem. It doesn't fully shift into the next gear so you have to shift twice to get it there.

yeah i didn't miss a shift at all last weekend did fast trail riding and some drag racing. Shifts real smooth.

Not sure Don't have on yet. Sounds like the exact problem I had on the YFZ though.

Yeah, My brothers Gas Gas is as fast as it needs to be, it can keep up with a stock yfz450.

The problem with adjusting the shifter linkage on the LT-R450 is that it doesnt have any linkage!

My 400ex sometimes has this problem - I just have to adjust the chain tension and the problem goes away.

My first ride on my ltr was awesome too... but I was told by the dealer that for the first couple of rides, go in every gear, but dont go over half throttle... I went over half throttle now and then but not very often.

My step-brother was on his ktm sx85 and he was saying that it would waste my ltr, I thought it would too... went out onto the field and we were pretty much neck n neck in 3rd, even though he was just under full throttle and I was just under half, and then I shifted into 4th and I blew him away :first: ... turned round, gave him the finger, then waited for him to get back and make an excuse about how he didnt shift right or something stupid like that :lol:

EDIT: Just saw the posts and realised this thread is OLD ... ah well I'll leave my post here anyways.. I know everyone likes to hear stories about how LTR'S waste other machines
