The pipe shootout is all finished up. I would first off like to thank DAN at DASA The Team Racers Edge. Dan did all of the dyno runs NO CHARGE for us. If you have not heard of dan he has been building FAST engines for along time and is currently suppling engines to Joe Bryd (Honda Factory rider) Pat Brown and Travis Spader (Factory Yamaha). He also has some FSW titles under his belt. I want to make a few statements here. First off do not get all caught up in the peak HP number. All dynos read different. The dyno used is known to read high. These peak numbers are not important. We must remember why we wanted to do this thing in the first place.

1. If i take off the air box lid, add a cherry bomb , and add a full aftermarket exhaust DO I NEED A PROGRAMMER TOO?
A. No with all of the pipes tested a Cherry Bomb worked fine. No other tunning is needed at the elevation tested. Now in an extreme change of elevation you may need a programmer to fine tune, but a majotity of us WILL NOT NEED A PROGRAMMER WITH THE SIMPLE MODS LISTED.

2. WILL THE AFTER MARKET EXHAUST PIPES MAKE MORE HP THEN THE STOCK EXAUST WITH THE BAFFLE PULLED OUT?
A. YES ..... All of the pipes tested did make more HP then the stock exhaust with the baffle pulled out. All of the aftermarket pipes tested were VERY close. Some made a little more then others.

3. DB'S All of the db testing was done at 3750 RPM. The spark arrestors were removed on the aftermarket exhausts for this test.

Stock Baffle in - 91db
Stock Baffle out - 101db
Two Brothers - 100.5 db
Yoshimura - 102.5 db
Trinity - 103.5 db
HMF - 102 db
Pro Armor - 102 db
Dasa - 100 db

4. All dyno runs were done with 91 octane pump gas.

The dyno sheets will be listed below. We will show each pipe run layed up aginst the stock pipe with the baffle pulled. Then you can see how much better each pipe does over the stock set up.
