I'd love to see it, but now we just need some sponsors to donate a few units! :p

I'm sure someone would be willing to get it together...Fuel comes to mind but I think he's to the point where he just wants to ride the machine instead of watching it spin a dyno all the time.

Well .... i am thinking Power Commander vs. Yoshi PIM - FIMAK combo would be a good test.. These are the only units available that are fully adjustable and trackable.

PIM-FIMAK - cost $500.00 , but comes with hand held unit to adjust mapping. Maps are Not down loadable to your computer.

Power Comander - Cost $350.00, but must have a lap top to tune ..... so now add $400.00 for a laptop. If you already have a laptop good, but do you want to take it ridding with you? Maps are down loadable.

I have also heard that timing is adjustable with the FIMAK and not with the Power Comander ..... i have not confirmed this.

Unfortunately the FIMAK only adjusts the percentage of fuel at any given RPM and throttle position. Timing adjustments would be nice althought that's something else I'd have to figure out how to do correctly. :D

I believe the fimak can adjust the fuel curves right down to your gear shifts. Which is slick considering your gearing gives you different demands along with speed.

I think this is a really good idea but i would include all the efi controllers out. Even though everyone sort of knows the PC and the Yoshi are the top two i would like to see how much better they are in comparison to the dobeck/trinity. Reviews and how to use them the right way would be good also.

SOON! It's been one thing after another. I was going to make a run today and tune some more but it's raining. I should at least get WOT dialed in by Saturday though. Them I"m working my way down throught the RPMs. This thing is simple as heck to tune if you have the right setup. Much simpler than having to take the carb apart and swap out jets.

I agree ACE ...... I Know Dobeck makes Trinity, HMF, and Alba Controllers.

True, that Dobeck does manufacture the Gen III, BUT they are not mapped by Dobeck, each individual company does their own mapping to their specific exhaust set up.

I just did some dyno testing on a 700R with our Gen II, Gen III and PCusb....

At this point at least, I think I would have to go with the Power Commander.

I spent a whole day on the dyno today with the Yosh kit, and IMO feel the the power commander would give a better more detailed range of adjustment. I also believe that without dyno availability, that the average joe is not going to be able to do a lot with any of these programmers without buying more measuring equiptment, only due to the fact that there is no way to sample air fuel within the system.
I should have a power commander in soon, and can give a fair dyno comparison of the two.

Just some thoughts.

I heard that!

ATP...nice...I have both the Trinity and the PC...I have been holding off installing the PC until I had a map of my pipe and the airbox removed...so I'm looking forward to your report :D

It looks like I have another customer bringing in his LTR for engine work next week and he already has the power commander, so I should have some more feed back in a couple of weeks.

Any progress???

We have the commander on the quad. We are in the process of building the engine and we will be using the commander on the dyno after we are done.

At first use with no dyno time yet, I do like the commander better. Its much easier to make adjustments to the system than the Yosh Unit is.
