Okay I am looking for some feedback on a complete exhaust from these two companies. I am going to order a complete exhaust, intake/airfilter, and controller. Complete Fatboy 4 exhaust from Duncan is almost $600 and is available in a few weeks, vortex controller somewhere around$260.00-$280.00 and not availabe just yet, and Duncan has not made an intake yet for the K&N filter yet but probably around $130.00-$160.00 for the kit. I was told that this Duncan Stage 1 kit would probably be packaged at a little under a grand, or very close to the Raptor 700 kit.

Trinity is in stock, w/ controller, and intake with K&N I can grt it for about $870.00 complete. The overall savings is about $130.00. I don't need this stuff until my next race in August, so I can wait for what I want. My question is, is the Duncan stuff that much better then Trinity or is Duncan overpriced? I have heard good things about them both but have never used any of their products. Just looking for feedback on your experiences with either company.

Zuk, since Trinity had my bike while trying to figure out the "Dobeck" problems...I'm pretty up on their stuff. If you have narrowed it down to these 2 then let me tell you about the one I have experience with. If you go with the Trinity set up you will be fine with Just a CRBM...so save your money on that...you'll be selling it later because it just won't give you the adjustability and fine tuning ability that your going to need as add on's become more available. Personally I like the look and performance..and they took care of me when the problems with the first release of the Dobecks. I have heard some bad things about them also BUT...I have had nothing but a pleasant experience with them. PM me if you have any other questions...hope this helps :D

SJ,

Thanks for the input. Are you stating don't buy the Dobeck controller, as I have heard all the numerous stories as I know you have that running the complete exhaust, filter/intake, CRB, lid off with the PS out would run way to lean and could damage the motor. Are you running all that and with the CRB and no controller and not experiencing that? I have heard Dobeck is not a real good product and I beleive they are the same as a the Trinity? How does your bike run overall without the controller?

Was at the track. Me-Yoshi. Some other guy-Trinity. We ran even for 3 laps, but I am 50lbs bigger, but he had worn tires. I think they are about the same performance wise, but I like the looks of that trinity, pretty cool design. Only draw back IMO to the trinity is that sucker is LOUD!!!!!

Zuk, yes your bike will run fine with the mods you stated. Anything ELSE?...and you should get either a PIM or a Power Commander. Trinity ran my bike with their pipe, air box lid off, Trinity Intake...they ran it on their dyno with just a CRBM and their Controller (Dobeck)...the guys told me that a CRBM was just fine...it ran lean low just like the DASA dyno tests showed...but came into line when you got on it...so what I'm saying is...you will be fine with just the CRBM...but should you choose to run the fuel module you will be fine also...the fuel module will give you some piece of mind...if it was me I would go ahead and buy the unit also...because I bought the module too...BUT...your probably gonna get either a PIM or a Power Commander (I got the PC) at a later date just to get the max out of the bike...I just considered it the price I had to pay for having a first year bike...
And yea...again...it's LOUD...

My opinon

i agree i have an HMF exhaust on mine and it works great. my buddy has the same bike as me and he bought the trinity slip-on for twice the price of mine and honesty it was a complete waste of money. on the trinity pipes the piping gets a tad smaller towards the back were mine is the same all the way through, i messed up and bought the trinity controller for mine and it was a huge mistake! there is hardly no adjustments on it and the ones that is up there are hard to understand and tell what is what. in my opinion i would go with a dynotec controller, its very easy to use ant has a ton of adjustments.
