just take the quick drain screw out of the water pump cover--way easier IMO

You'll have to completely flush the system.

First drain it as stated above. Then fill it with distilled water, run it with the cap off filling it as needed until it finally stays full. Put the cap on, let it get hot so the thermostat opens to circulate the water through the motor, let it cool and drain it again. After about 3 times doing this it will start to run clear when you drain it. You have to get all the coolant out of the engine. Just pulling the hose or taking out the drain bolt won't get it all out. I did this a few months ago. Be sure to let everything cool before you pull the hose or you'll spray super hot coolant all over you and the bike.

thanks guys, I tried just removing the screw but it didnt drain alot, so i popped the hose off just to be sure and out came the rest. I ran distilled water through it till it was clear then added my engine ice. draining the overfill tank was a real pain in the a$$ though

but now i know for next time

Must remove rad. cap to get the coolant to flow out. Works the same way as the vent on your gas can!! Think about it.

I had the cap removed and let it drain through the quick drain, but when i removed the hose it let out plenty more coolant. There was still more in there when I flushed it with the distilled water too, so I dont think the drain screw will get it all, even with the CAP OFF........

gees you guys kill me

Pull the drain plug and remove radiator cap. Flush with hose till all water comes out clear (then flush a little more). Pull over flow hose off radiator neck and flush overflow till all clear. Replace overflow hose, drain screw and fill'er up....rad and overflow. Done
