You want your front tires to be solid as a rock (less rolling resistance). Your rear depends on the consistency of the dragstrip. You want it to hookup without a lot of wheelspin.

start in 2nd, you want to sit as close to the tank as possible and lean way over it when you launch. as for the 700r, if he hooks up right you will be burnt like toast.

With your basic mods you shouldn't have to much trouble with the Raptor 700R, espically if it is stock. My Dad has a new 700R, and with the Cherry Bomb, Baffle, and lid removed I know I would be alot faster.

The new Raptor has a very impressive low end, with tonnes of tourque. It is actually hard to keep the front tires down throught the first 3 gears. However after the midrange it falls pretty flat, and my LTR takes over.

Peg the throttle and use your clutch to controll your launch especially if you are taking off it second. And like dvs said hug the tank and as soon as you launch slide all the way back and hang your butt off the seat so you have plenty of traction to the tires. As for the 700R your gonna have your hands full your launch is the most important, try your hardest to shift just after him, or as soon as you feel the bike stop pulling, this is a case where better to shift then, then to whine out every gear.........oh and pray there arent any banshees there for the drag race.
