Put a pipe on it and you will put the hurt on both of em B) . Yammi 450's are fast though, good motors.

Good "engines" Motors are electric :)
The Yami has the strongest engine of all 3 bikes... it takes fewer mods to make fast, but once you build it over 60 HP it doesn't hold together.
I haven't got a reliable report to what the factory Suzuki LTRs are running HP wise, but I know the Honda's are about 69 HP. I imagine the zooks are in the lower-mid 60s.

Throw in a trinity 493cc bore kit and show them what a Suzuki can do, also buy a pipe and say the pipe was the only mod u did since u last raced them.

What do you mean by "factory" Suzuki's and Honda's? Those hp numbers you listed are quite high. Doug Guss's modified LT-R450 (intake, pipe, cherry bomb, ported head, intake cam) has 56 hp. A factory stock LT-R50 has about 43 hp.

Just a little bit of advice if you're doing mainly drag racing. Lower your tire pressure in the rear tires. Also you want your front tires as hard as a rock (less rolling resistance) so put more air in the front tires. With low air pressure in the front tires it takes more power to push the quad. With higher pressure it takes less.

He's right once again...don't you just love this guy?
Thats why drag racers use round tires instead of squared off ones in the front. They air them up so less of the surface area of the tire touches the ground...thus less resistance...Air 'em up boys :p

Talon...no worries...he's busting my chops because I asked Dan @ DASA what he thought he would get out of Fuel's bike. Dan's reply was "54 or 55" and Fuel wants to hear 56...so now we are eagerly awaiting the final numbers...soooo...
Look for yet another running gag...see how easy it is to hijaak a thread??? :p

Ah, I see. Well, if this helps, the article said what Gust had done - Open air box, CB, Yoshimira pipe, slightly ported head and intake cam. Now we can all be like Doug Gust!

Oh, and to not hijack the thread - a quad with 56 horsepower will be faster in a drag race than a quad with 46 horsepower, all other things being equal. :)

i don't race mx on a real race circuit but i race on a track me and my buddies built. i would like to start racing mx but for now i only ride sand dunes trails and do the ocassional drag race. i am very happy with my new tires they hook up really well they also add a little top speed i need an exhaust now to pull them like a bat out of hell like it did with the 18s i am only planning on doing exhaust, porting, cams, intake, and fuel programmer i may get high comp piston and possibly 493 kit.

(can't wait till dune season i am trying to convince my dad we need to go to glamis 4th of july weekend)
