Allright I got the motor all buttoned up on Sunday and left on Wednesday for sandlake, Or.

Just a reminder, we installed:
Dasa Exhaust
Dasa P&P head
Dasa Web Cams
Modquad K&N
KBR 13.75:1 Piston

Before this I was running stock exhaust (core removed), airbox lid off, and CRBM. All of my opinions will be based off of my previous setup.

During the install and initial startup we did seem to have a small problem though, the Dasa exhaust steps up so big in the midpipe that it was very close to my airbox and in the first few minutes started to melt my airbox. We modified the mounts to push it away from the box an added reflective tape to the airbox, and that fixed it unitil I can ritchen it up. It is probably running very lean due to only using the CRBM for fuel management, other than that the thing fired up fine. The idle had to be turned up 1/4 turn in order to satisfy the higher lift cams (it kept dying otherwise).

Now for the performance report. I would first like to say that the 6 paddle extremes that you guys all reccomended to me are no good for my setup up here in the Oregon dunes. All they did was spin the whole way up the hill. My gearing was also off, and I still could not launch my bike in second gear, even with a 13T front (I will be going up 2 or 3 teeth in rear shortly). So launching in first I was having to shift once more than the YFZ's and TRX's and trust me I could tell when I was shifting the extra time because they would be getting ahead of me as I was spinning and not hooking up ( I weigh 250 and had all my weight shifted to the rear). Now as I shifted into third and the tires started to hook up I could real in any bike I wanted too.

Overall I am very happy with the setup and the power is definitley everywhere on this bike. I gained 5 bike lengths up a very short hill. I just need to figure out the gearing/tire combo that will work for me. I also expect to get more power once I open the airbox up and add a controller to get the Air/Fuel mixture straightened out.

You definitely need a fuel controller. That suckers gotta be lean, if they are lean just from dasa exhaust and a cherry. You richen that bad boy up you'll destroy em. :pep:

With extensive modifications such as that, you have to be nearing the point of being dangerously lean. Would love to hear another review once you have a fuel controller installed

Fuel: No I have not adjusted the fuel besides the Cherry Bomb, Dan said this will be fine (as long as I didn't cut the airbox) until I get one of his yosh controllers.

I was running 4.5 lbs in the tires, thats what I dont get. If I launch in first I spin through the gears extremley quickly but when in second it didnt seem to want and pull it and I cant figure out why.

Might have to do with that whole lean issue. Your engines wanting more fuel to pull her through the gears.

Personally with the CB in and the DASA I think you are most likely running lean like everyone states.

I'm curious though. Disconnect your battery for about 15 minutes and then hook it back up and see if it still seems to be running lean. I'm thinking it may reset the EFI.

Honestly I"m not sure. I just heard of someone doing it after the PIM install because it wouldn't start. He just left it off for 15 minutes and it started once he hooked it back up.. 15 seconds (just like a computer) sounds right to me.

i know from my experiance that when i shifted my 220lbs. to the rear, the bike didn't like it  but when all i did was just get up off the seat a few inches it totally loved it :)

Nice review. I purchased a DASA as well as some others on her.e Just waiting for it to be FUELIZED ( hahaa i like that ) ... So in other words, ima have to get a FUEL CONTROLLER and strap that bad boy on a Dyno because i will be running way to LEAN? If so, what Fuel controller out there is more USER Friendly. There is a Dyno at Little Sahara and charges about $45 for 3 runs....

You must be getting the special. It costs me $50 for a run on that dyno. And I've never seen it be used as much of a "tuning tool" Hope they work with you to tune the bike.
