I guess it all depends on what DYNO is used for the final #'s. But I will make an assumption on hom much HP is expected to be gained. I am guessing around 15 HP with everything maybe more maybe less.

If I'm not mistaken...I asked Dan about this particular application HP...he was hoping to push 59 or 60...I know 56 is the number WITHOUT the high compression piston...so I think it's realistic... :D

Real life hp, im guessing maybe 54-55. Very nice parts though, i really like the look of the pipe.
[/b]

This is closer to what Im thinking.

And please dont think Im bashing Dan, cause hes a bad bad man. Also take dynos for what they are worth, some read higher, some read lower.

Think about it this way, Kam has a worked over LTR that makes like 48 and its suppose to be bad arse.

Now thats what im talking about...........someone else who like shoving performance parts in a motor!

The best part is i get to analyze the cam specs, thanks for posting them JPhelps.

A picture of the port job would be pretty cool. Id like to compare to my Venom port job.

Goodluck on your installation. More than half the time is spent figuring out where all the freakin wires and hoses go on this thing :( Definetly keep us posted

OK...I agree with you about the dyno's reading differently...yes they do...however since DASA has a LTR FROM SUZUKI at their plant and that is what they are using as a base...I would tend to agree with his numbers...and I think we all can agree that we're looking at numbers over the baseline...

And until YOU can talk Suzuki into donating a bike for YOUR products...I would think a little less lip is in order...

Secondly the guy took the time to run all the pipes for us...no one...and I mean NO OTHER pipe manufacture has taken anytime to do that kind of work...

Lets walk through it...between the pipe installs...the dyno runs...cooling off and re-runs...install a different pipe...analysis...I'm thinking 2 hours minimum...at $120 an hour?...so the guy donated a minimum of $1500 to $2000 just so the members of this site could make an educated decision on which pipe to buy?...

And your going to thank him by running smack on him and his products?

Dude...I think a little courtesy is in order here...the guy who started this thread took the time to post it and run some photos so we could all enjoy his purchase...and you come on here and trash the guy who made it for him...nice job...

I think we all learned back in first grade "If you can't say nothing nice...don't say nothing at all"...

At least some of us did...

And yes I am pissed...and I did take that personally...

I second junkie. Y'all need to take a look at what the man did for us. You guys wouldn't be comparing other pipes if it wasn't for Dan, I'm glad I bought his exhaust for my quad. Not only for the hp but for the respect he gave us, in using his time when he could have been making a living. SO MAN UP AND SHOW SOME FING RESPECT.

I'm sorry if I come off like an ahole but that aint right.

I dont think those power claims from Dasa are out of line. We have an LTR with a stock piston (compression bumped as bit)a DRZ cam and our port work, valve job and a full Yosh system sitting at 55 HP. More cam, more compression, better pipe, I dont think that is out of line at all. I am waiting on my custom grinds to come in right now. I plan on getting into the 60's on the next go round fairly easily.

OK for cost and dont qoute me because I was one of the first along with fuel to have some of these modifications done, so I was part of the R&D. I will also guess at the power for each mod.

(2-3)Port and Polish: $495
(3-4)Cams:$325
(3-4 HP)Exhaust (ordered from DirtFiendRacing):$499.00
(2-3)Piston and Gasket kit from KBR: around $325.00
(2)Modquad K&N Intake (K&N) is small as hell: $120.00
(1-2)VP C12 : $8/gal

OK now for the Fuel Injection controller (nobody bash me or Dan), I will only be runnig the Cherry Bomb, until I get a custom mapped yoshi from Dan. I am going to the dunes next week and the controller will not be ready by then. He told me as long as I didn't cut my airbox up I should be allright with just the CB. I will take his word for it he has the DYNO and has been working on the same bike setup minus high compression.

Regarding the pictures of the porting, I wont post any pictures until I have okayed it with Dan. Although in comparing my before and after pictures the most work was done on the Short side radius and in the combustion chamber.

Lets not turn this into bashing. I said I just guessed at 15 by what Dan had been lookig at with each mod. It never came out of his mouth or atleast I didnt hear it that this setup will make 60. Yeah, I am kind of shooting for 60, but if I only get 57 or 58 I will still be happy.

Where do I bash Dan or his products? I run a DASA on my LTR, DASA pipes and intakes on all my Hondas, have had many long talks with Dan about Honda stuff. Even Dan will tell you that his dyno reads high. Now, real world HP that bike will not make 59-60, and probably not 56. It wont happen. And I hope you are not taking that as bashing Dan because its not. I think Gary can attest to that, but thats not the topic here. I know what dyno testing costs, try having a drag Honda. Dan is by far the baddest Honda guy out there, and I dont see where I bash him or his products, so if you could point that out I would appreciate it.

JPhelps, your set up is exactly what I would do with an LTR (well, except maybe the cams). That is going to be a sweet LTR I would enjoy seeing that thing run @ the dunes (if you even live out west?). Don't get fixed on a HP #, because dyno's are all variable from one to another.

And FWIW I agree with R3 on his comments about DASA and realistic HP #'s. Keep in mind Dan @ DASA is a smart cookie, and lining up all the pipe competition to set the bar for his pipe development didn't just benefit LTR450HQ members. Wasn't his pipe one of the last tested? ;) ....Good to see more Zuks' finally getting built....
