Hey guys, now that we have all of the major forum changes done; I'd like to just try and highlight a few things here. First off, I honestly believe we have the most informative, well executed membership out of any forum on the net. We couldn't have a smarter group of guys here on LTR450hq to help develop these new machines.
I know with the old setup, finding an appropriate forum for a thread was difficult sometimes; but with the new layout I think it should be ALOT easier to identify where a thread needs to go. There's basically just two points I'd like to discuss quick.
First one, is now with the easier forum layout; PLEASE try to think about where you're opening a thread instead of just throwing it in the general forum. When people are searching for specific information, they're going to refine their search down to appropriate forums and the open forum may just get skipped right over. There obviously are cases where a thread needs to be posted in the open forum, and that's perfectly fine; that's what it's there for.
The other point is the naming of some of the threads. Threads titled "need help" or "look here" give us absolutely ZERO information about what the thread is going to be about. This again gets back to rendering the search feature completely useless. Creating a short effective title works WONDERS for trying to reference past information. I personally use the search feature hundreds of times each day to help members out, but some of the information is impossible to find because of ineffective thread titles.
I greatly appreciate anyone who read through all of my babbling here. I'm not trying to complain about the way things work, I just know these two things would help improve our site immensely. We have the best LTR forum on the internet, and I KNOW we can still make it even greater yet.
