So after washing my ltr, i went ahead and drained the gas and changed the fuel filter(aftermarket style) because its been a few tanks since rebuild and i just got some new 110 for it. I was wondering if i could see much of a difference with 110 vs 93 when i thought about how ive never tampered with the crbm and seen the difference it makes.

So i took it off, and took it for a spin. Didnt seem to lose much power, if any noticeably, specially not 7hp. (mind you im running pro design filter mount, lid off, and slip on silencer the entire time thru my testings). I did notice some mud in the connections(kid before me trashed quad, had crbm just zip tied and not even plugged in idt?) so i thought id try some contact cleaner and maybe id find me an extra 4-6hp. Plugged it back in with nothing different. Even got my cars gps out for some speed testing, and it was actually slower with crbm plugged up, by like .4 or .6 mph, prolly just difference in my runs but still.

Anyways- Im just curious if anyone has ever had a cherrybomb failure? And if it would be wise to order me a new one, right? The past few weeks of having the bike running- i thought the power was great in comparison to 450rs ive rode and rode with, but would a new crbm really wake it up a bit?

Yes they can fail. It is just a resistor which when plugged in, tells the ECM to use the 'Race' map. You can easily test it by checking resistance between the 2 pins. If there is no continuity, it is bad and needs replaced. If it shows resistance it is OK.

yeah im not real sure how to use the tester, but ill have my dad test it tomorrow. and ill prolly buy yours cbazz.
also- with running exhaust and no lid ect, thinkin i had crbm, would this be the cause of tempramental starting? starts great cold, no throttle needed, have to give quarter throttle and crank a couple times after its hot? just curious. thanks for input!

I also have an extra cherrybomb I need to sell. It's brand new in packaging. I had one already and when I bought my yoshimura exhaust, it came with another one. Let me know.

The cherry bomb itself doesnt give you the 7 hp, its a combo of no lid, open exhaust, and a new map. There will not be a radical change in hp if you unplug the c/b once you have done the other changes, it just runs you on a different fuel map for a better flowing motor.
Hard starting might be valve issues, you might want to check your clearances.
