I just intalled my full yosh today and I am having problems. Feels like the clutch is slipping maybe, dont know.. In first second and third when you pin the the gas it acelerates for about a second and then the rev limiter hits. Raced a stock banchee at atlanta motor speedway tonight.. Can usually get a piped and jetted one by three to four bike lenghts. Lost by at least 8 bike lenghts in front of at least 3000 people very embarrasing not to mention my friends probably lost 500 bucks in bets. Do yall think my stock clutch cannot handle extra horespower? put it on a dyno yesterday before i piped it and had 51 rwhp. Dont know how many with the full yosh. Should I upgrade to heavier duty clucth or basket. If so who has the best. Really need yalls help on this one

Thanks a million michael

Check your adjustment first. Pull the cover and see if you have glazed the clutch.

Synthetics are fine to run as long as you start out with a new clutch that has only been soaked in synthetic oil. Also, you have to use a wet clutch compatable synthetic oil.

ALL of our race engines are broken in and raced on Amsoil.

Do you yhink that is my problem? I use regular suzuki oil. what do you mean by adjusting th clutch? cable? How exactly do you do that. I just cant see going from smoking piped banshees, yfzs,450rs and 700r on dirt with stock tires not hooking up on dirt with a stock exhuast and changing to full yoshi and then getting smoked by a stock banshee on pavement. I am also thinking about changing to royal purple oil, Yes-no :(
Thank for all the help guys

I've been using Valvoline for awhile and it seems to work great.

Check out your manual for how to adjust the clutch. I can almost guarantee you that from dragging your clutch wore down some and you did not adjust it and then it started slipping. It won't last long if it's slipping so make sure you check the adjustment occasionally.

OK........ alot of synthetic oils carry molybdenum disulfide (moly). The moly is a friction moddifier that is made to reduce friction and heat. By definition, synthetic oils reduce heat far better than mineral oils. However, oil in the wet clutch was not intended to be a lubricant, it was intended to lessen the heat transfer between the plates. Therefore, when properly applied (do some research) you can get an oil that is better than the other.
The below link will help you understand when choosing oil. **Note** I must state again, DO NOT GET OIL THAT HAS ENERGY CONSERVING on the api donut.

Im having similar issues. Feels like a loss of power. Sputtering and clutch seems like its slipping.

I just switched to synthetic oil. Gonna go back. Didnt realize the issues the syn causes with the clutch.

been running Rotella T since day one with zero problems. And, yes, eventually you have to adjust a clutch as it wears. Thats the reason they have adjustments on them.
