Hy guys,

I am from Belgium and a month ago the first LTR-450's arrived here. I was wondering if one of you already had to change their piston.
Riders with a YFZ-450 has to replace their piston every 50 hours. Does anybody know how many hours it has to be done on the LTR

I'm guessing the riding time is probably the same, I've had my YFZ since September 2003 and i still haven't changed my piston, and I've had my LTR for about 4 months now and the piston is still strong.

So for the moment there is nobody who already had to change there piston.

I read that some of the riders on this forum have run more then 100 hours.

50 hours is just what the companies say to save themselves if anything happens. I have about 150hours on mine and havent changed the piston. I dont plan to until the rings go.

Ok that is good news. How do you know when it would be time to change the piston ?

By measering the compression ?
