Have any of you seen the new Bombardier / Can AM (They changed thier name) Renegade? Imagine an 800cc fuel injected v twin 4 wheel drive sport looking quad? I bet it would be a mean trail quad! Any comments? I like the way it has 4 projector headlights stock! Definately different! I'd like to ride one at least once!

This is the type of quad I have been hoping for. I ride a v-force for trails sometimes a brute force 650 also. The v-force is great for non-mx riding. But I do wish for less weight.

Now, the renegade should be really wicked for trail riding and just fun riding. I would really consider this machine in the future but I hope someone comes up with a lighter version of this...then I am sure I would buy it.

Ok, I'm gonna rant a little bit, so excuse me. But this kills me... all these Brute Force 750s, Polaris 800s and all these big bore 4x4 quads. I have a 4x4 and love to ride woods with it. But really, when will it end? They're not getting any lighter... I'm sure an 800cc that weighs just under 600 pounds probably has the power to weight ratio of a 300EX... I guess its just a biggest and baddest bragging rights thing going on. I know when 4x4 or woods quads get light, they tend to lose some strength, and steel is stronger than aluminum and titanium is just plain expensive. But I would take a lightweight 450 or 500 4x4 anyday over a 900 pound 800cc wooly mammoth monster. Could you imagine flipping a quad weighing nearly a half-ton? Sounds like death to me. I'd much rather have a 500 lb quad rolling over me if I were to wreck. Sorry for the rant, just throwing out my $0.02 incase any manufacturers read this thread. All the other countries say Americans are fat and obese. Lets not let our quads get that way. Manufacturers put the quads on a diet before they are obese too.

I kind of agree with quadracer450 52 with the whole weight thing, they are very heavy! but the outlander weighs more and it still flies for a 4X4 so I think the renegade will be fast. In my own opinion the outlaw with 4wd would be the best woods rider. But until then I wouldn't mind having a renegade in my stable.

I agree that it is very heavy and I would never want it rolling over on me I agree 100% but it is a V twin = 2 cylindars thats like two 400's and most v twins rip on low end and that would be what I want on trail rides? I don't know how many of you have rode Harleys but they have tons of low end power! Just out of curiosity why do you think the outlaw would be better in 4wd than this? The renegade has an Independant rear also! I will never give up sport quads but this might be a real fun machine to trail ride and or light work! I will always want a large collection of sport quads! But big bore ute's are fun also! Espically in the mud! I am not endorsing it but I bet it would be fun to ride? I rode the outlander 800 v twin and it flys!

ocassionally I will borrow a utility Like a King quad 700 from work and take it trail riding.

While they are fast and have good acelleration, THEY DONT STOP! Or corner.

I was hauling tail down a whoopy downhill trail, to a corner, and guess what down I went over the other side totally blowing the corner. Brakes all but locked up.

I guess I thought I was still on my LTR.

I would think there is a market for a 500 CC single in a light weight 4X4 Chassis under 500lbs.

But to be honest, I would argue the target market of these open class big brutes dont really care about weight, or gas mileage, or noise, or anything of the sort.

Yeah, youre probably right about the target market cernics. I rode with a guy that had a new Brute Force 750 once, and he hadnt ever rode much before. He just had more money than sense and the Wednesday before the ride he went out and got the biggest baddest 4x4 made at the time, I guess to make up for his lack of riding skill?? Not sure why you would spend almost $9000 on a quad that big when you could get a nice used Jeep Wrangler for about $5000. Physically, they're about the same size, but the Wrangler is $4000 cheaper and has a radio, not to mention street legal.
