I really don't know. It was fine Friday, then when we got up Saturday my buddy just rode it on the flat and came back and asked me if there was something wrong with it because it was shifting real wierd. I said not that I know of so I rode it and sure enough it was real sloppy and hard to get into gear. Suzuki will not warranty it because they say it's caused by an impact such as landing on it from a jump. If you could see me jump, you know there is now way I broke it that way. Anyhow there are 3 other guys in the area that have had this problem and Suzuki keeps turning them down. The guys at the shop tell me it's a weak spot in the case. It's a good excuse to pump it up a little though. How the heck did that happen.
Not trying to rag on you Al...but he was saying this would be a good time to install the BB kit. Agree with everything else 100%. Telling you they won't cover it is the easy way out for them...if you roll over they just saved some cashActually what them to do is prove that the bigbore kit caused this and you wat it in writing. Unless they can prove that it did and if it's still under warranty they absolutely have to repair it under warranty.
It is illegal for them to dany a warranty claim just because aftermarket parts are installed. You may want to remind them of this.
There is a Federal law called the Magnum-Moss Act that stipulates this. Do a search and you'll have all the ammo you need
No racing here. This is actualy the 1st quad I have ever owned. Even with the few connections I have at the big dealer here in town there was nothing they could do for me. And that's what all the other dealers are saying too. The one kid that broke his had like 5 hrs on it and the dealer fought real hard for him but no dice. I suppose I could really fight it and maybe get something but it's too late now cause I got pissed and pulled it myself. Really though it's BS in my opinion, and what I am really worried about is it happeneing again. So when I get the new half case I am going to look into welding it to reinforce it.No ragging at all. I mis-read it.
I'm curious as to why they wouldn't warranty it though. Is it because you race?
well what a coincedence...my case has a leak in it...very slow but enough to put worry in me!! i cant wait till the 07's are out..im gettin rid of this thing asap...first the starter and now the case...and i dont even race...UGH..do you think suzuki will cover this stuff if i take the pipe and filter kit off and left the other little stuff on?
[attachmentid=1249][attachmentid=1247]I borke the case this weekend in Florence and sure enough Suzuki won't warranty it. I guess I'll just have to put the yoshi big bore kit in it while i have it out!
someone should pin that or add it to somewhereSuzuki will warranty it.
I had the same happed to me 5 weeks ago. It took them 4 weeks to get me a new case in. They know about the problem and had the new cases redesigned. As you see the original case is very thin in that area, the new one has been built up to with stand the stress.
If you have any problem let me know I will get you in touch with my dealer, they took care of it for me.
