How the heck did that happen.

I really don't know. It was fine Friday, then when we got up Saturday my buddy just rode it on the flat and came back and asked me if there was something wrong with it because it was shifting real wierd. I said not that I know of so I rode it and sure enough it was real sloppy and hard to get into gear. Suzuki will not warranty it because they say it's caused by an impact such as landing on it from a jump. If you could see me jump, you know there is now way I broke it that way. Anyhow there are 3 other guys in the area that have had this problem and Suzuki keeps turning them down. The guys at the shop tell me it's a weak spot in the case. It's a good excuse to pump it up a little though.

Actually what them to do is prove that the bigbore kit caused this and you wat it in writing. Unless they can prove that it did and if it's still under warranty they absolutely have to repair it under warranty.

It is illegal for them to dany a warranty claim just because aftermarket parts are installed. You may want to remind them of this.

There is a Federal law called the Magnum-Moss Act that stipulates this. Do a search and you'll have all the ammo you need.

Not trying to rag on you Al...but he was saying this would be a good time to install the BB kit. Agree with everything else 100%. Telling you they won't cover it is the easy way out for them...if you roll over they just saved some cash

No ragging at all. I mis-read it.

I'm curious as to why they wouldn't warranty it though. Is it because you race?
[/b]
No racing here. This is actualy the 1st quad I have ever owned. Even with the few connections I have at the big dealer here in town there was nothing they could do for me. And that's what all the other dealers are saying too. The one kid that broke his had like 5 hrs on it and the dealer fought real hard for him but no dice. I suppose I could really fight it and maybe get something but it's too late now cause I got pissed and pulled it myself. Really though it's BS in my opinion, and what I am really worried about is it happeneing again. So when I get the new half case I am going to look into welding it to reinforce it.

Not sure, from the explanation I was given it's that it's the part the breaks and they have some magical way of determining how it was broken ie. jumping which I wasn't and hardly do, not so much the mods you do. Now I understand if you build the motor up they won't cover a failure but this is a pretty crappy deal. $1400 repair at the dealer!! but I'll tell ya I still love the thing. However, this is the LAST time I buy the 1st year of anything. Let other people break theirs so Suzuki or whoever it is can figure out the weakspots.

Suzuki will warranty it.

I had the same thing happen to me 5 weeks ago. It took them 4 weeks to get me a new case in. They know about the problem and had the new cases redesigned. As you see the original case is very thin in that area, the new one has been built up to withstand the stress.

If you have any problems let me know, I will get you in touch with my dealer, they took care of it for me.
