So how long is break in with the stock oil? I have read it's pretty important to get that crap out of there before the tranny starts wining.

I had mine in there for less than two hours and it still had the whine after the second oil change.

Me too, changed it after about 1-1/2 hours, got the whine once, not very loud but noticeable.

No what there saying is that they 1st year LTR's have a tranny whine problem on some of the bikes. Mine only dose it at random and is very light. But I use a 20/50 blend.

And the break in has nothing to do with the whine. The whine comes from the tranny.

I rode mine about. 6 hrs then changed it...no whine here....im on my 3 rd oil change in about 30-40 hrs

I got a little of it with the dealer oil in it...Switched to 20/50 synthetic and havent heard it again. Not that its a cure all but worked on mine.

Does anyone know for sure what this whine might be?? I hear it might just be the clutch???
