I had a major bog just above idle. If you stabbed the throttle it would bog and sputter and some times just quit, the problem would get much worse as the engine came up to running temp. Also, it was starting hard. So I started digging and here's what I did.

-Replaced swirl filter (this time I cut open my old filter and it appeared to be fine minus a few black chunks externally) bog continues...
-Cleaned all high pressure fuel lines and fuel pump filter, bog continues
-Cleaned injector (back flushed), bog continues
-Swapped fuel pump, bog continues
-Swapped FPR, bog continues
-Swapped injector, bog continues
-Removed valve cover and verified valve clearances (within spec), bog continues.

At this point I am frustrated and scratching my head. One thing that had me curious was the fact that it got worse when hot....

My LTR is an 06' with the original spark plug. I changed it out, the engine fired up much easier, and the bog was gone!

So I went through all that crap when it was a simple spark plug all along. All said and done, do you guys routinely swap plugs even if they are performing properly? I think 10 years was a good run...

I normally throw a new one in once a season
