Bigger Tires On Rear 8" Rims

Has anyone tried using a 20 or 22 inch tires on the stock rim? Is it too much side wall? I have to get these 18 inchers of asap, the rocks are doin' some damage!!, Also thinking about 23's on the front, anyone tried that yet?

I just ordered 9" Douglas Yellow Label Beadlocks and some 20" tires for mine. I got tired of bottoming out on the trails.
