Is there any need for beadlocks on the front? I'm ordering a set of new wheels and tires and thinking about going with the douglas ultimate billet beadlock rears and just .190's on the front to save some cash. i'm thinking this should be fine.....am i wrong???? its either the beadlock rears w/ .190 fronts or itp baja's all around. I can't make up my mind as both combos are about the same price.

I personally think unless your running GNCC's, beadlocks on the front is not nessacary. I'd go w/ some rolled edge Douglas's. I've never flattened one of these but now run hipers.

so what would you guys rather have? douglas ultimate billet beadlock rears and .190 fronts. OR. itp t9 baja's all the way around??? I'm definitely ordering tires/wheels today, i just can't make up my mind on wheels. I'm pretty set on kenda klaws front and rear as they are probably the best bang for the buck. I'm basically looking to stay around $600. I wanted hipers but then i don't even have enough for tires...lol.

are the hipers ALOT better than the douglas beadlocks? i could probably swing $700 and get the hipers from the guy on the groupbuy thread for a little over $600 then just buy the rear klaws for around $100 and wait another month till the next paycheck and get front tires then?? I keep confusing myself. for some reason though i doubt the longevity of the hiper rims. I ride in a lot of below freezing conditions in the winter and 90deg weather in the summer and i'd think they might get brittle after being heat cycled over a couple years...???

That is what I would do. As far as being better...Thery are lighter and supposedly stronger. If you do break a part of the Hiper, you can replace just that part. You do not have to buy the whole rim.

HiPer's are EXPENSIVE for a reason...if you're one of those people who can't put a price on performance - there's no other way to go.

Douglass beadlocks will get the job done, but our kitchen scale said they were heavier. If you're on a budget, Douglass will serve you right

I've personally busted the centers out of Douglas's so for me the hipers were the only way to go. I weighed'em out W/ the Hipers being lighter.

I know OMF's are not an option but they are the best by far for strength but they have the weight to come with it.

Aren't they just a Douglas with a scalloped bead ???
