so has anybody picked up the latest ATVaction.well for those of you who havent it has a modified 450 shootout...and heres what the quads had done to them for the Honda450r:cr high bars, leagers steering stem, ims nerfs and pegs and heel gaurds, and bumper, stock shocks revalved and resprung by noleen, rmp axle and moose racing a-arms, ct full exhaust, web cams, HRC cdi box, sub wire harness, jetted and removed the airbox lid...now for the Yamaha yfz450 it had:UM nerfs bumper tag bars and a stem, a durablue eliminator axle with alba action a-arms up front and stock shocks revalved and resprung by noleen, for the motor it had web cams alba exhaust, and a cdi box wich put it to 49.25 HP...and last but not least the suzuki LTR450 it had lonestar stem renthal bars DG nerfs and bumper, stock axle and a-rms and the shocks revalved and re sprung by noleen, for the motor it had Yoshi cams Yoshi exhaust EMF fuel injection management system and they removed the airbox lid to create a nice 51.58HP...they all also had kenda claw tires...now to get to my point u wouldnt imagine which one got first the 450r got first followed by the yfz450 then by the ltr450(which blew my mind away) well i guess this post is pointless pretty much..i was just letting everybody know about how the LRT got beat out in the shootout...PS sorry got the long ass post

The pro's I would imagine have the best modified machines and who won the championship? Maybe the test riders were not LTR riders but rode yamaha and Honda so were more familiar with getting the most out of them rather than the LTR...I'm just guessing here and looking for a possible excuse.

Magazines are a good source for paid biase.

Based on magazine feedback, I bought my LTR and I'm very satisfied (+ for the mags)

also based on magazine feed back, I planned my duning vacation from the articles written (+ for the mags)

Last but not least for me, I bought Sand Star paddles cause they looked cool and the magazines all raved about them ( - for the magazines big minus really).....

magazines say they try their best to provide both fact and opinion. Most of them rarely provide good factual information (you might only get 2-3 pages out of 100+). The majority of their information is "professional opinion".... And thats where their fan base is made. If you don't like the articles, don't buy the magazine anymore.

The LTR isn't for everyone. There are a few people who have bought them and are already off-loading them for various reasons. Trust me, If I didn't like it for what ever reason.... I'd be selling it too. I won't make excuses for a bad or un-comfortable product. I like the bike, and it fits my style just the way I've got mine set up. Thats part of the reason mine will probably only get a pipe and nothing more.

Probably the most accurate non-conspiracy reason.

come on guys. we don't have any worry what some magazine has to say. we ride what we ride and we know what it is capable of. i have always loved and rode honda but when i researched the facts of the ltr i was sold and then when i rode it. WOW.. i love this thing and would not rewind and get something different.

If Suzuki ever spent as much as Yammie/Honda does on magazine advertising they would start to win shootouts...

They have the same old dumas'es (haha) testing the bikes...

"I've ridden the yfz450 for a hundred years and now I'm going to jump on the lt-r450 and say I like it?"

yeah right...

one of the recent mags complained because their paddle tires had too much hookup in the sand... something like: "it was a lot easier to slide with the stock knobbies on it" WTF?

oh and "it's a much better duner now that we have skid plates and nerf bars on it" WTF? some of the "dune bike" buildups have been comical...

most of the testers are dirt track racers who don't know shee-it about dunes...
idiots.

o and heres a closing note on the shootout "with all three quads modified in a similar fashion, the honda does seem to have the advantage. However, with the right rider on board, all three quads are very capable of winning. As a matter-of-fact, lap times at one location were the same from machine to the other for each rider. What determines the best quad is a matter of what a person is used to, which one complements the riders style, whether the ease of maintenance is important, and cost. there is no denying the suzuki lt-r450 is the cheapest quad avaliable for motocross at this time.".....that sounds good right?

also reminds me when they(the mags) the ltr was slow but then would post the lap times and which was the quickest! no question. right?
