It seems everytime I go ridding I have to refill the coolant. The thing is it only drops to the low mark on the overflow bottle never lower. Maybe I should stop refilling it. The temp light never turns on and the fan rarely runs yet after every ride I have a fresh puddle of coolant on my skid plate. I was wondering if I am the only one having this problem?

I thought it was the F for full and the L for low. I have checked it while it was running and it still sits at the L line. Of course thats after it has spit out the fluid I just put in it.

My coolant goes down too, last time i was at Motoland my coolant went from over the Full line and at the end of the day there was barely any coolant left, but as long as i see enough coolant in the radiator I'll be fine.

This is common, the coolant splashes around and leaks out the overflow hose.
You need to extend the overflow hose.
Easy way: get a longer hose and wrap it once around the coolant tank and then out to run off.
Basically you need to stop the coolant from free running out. Forming a loop in the overflow hose will stop it.

It's been awhile and I have tried looping the tube and I have'nt seen a difference. It still leaks all the fluid to the low line and I still have to constently refill it. Do I actually need that bottle to be full or is it just an overflow? Anyone else have any ideas?

After the 20th time of my overflow bottle emptying, I decided to run it as it is, and after about a week of hard riding, I took my rad cap off and sure enough it was full. I have been running it for a few months this way with no problems, or lost coolant.

As for the coolant resivoir, I say CHOP IT!

Nice!! This is by far the most helpful hint I could get. Peace of mind knowing that I'm not going to toast my engine running with the bottle at the Low mark. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!
