Yeah there's not much around (but a good hospital ;) ) but I love the track and yes it is in the middle of a corn field. The dirt's nice and tacky and they do a nice job grooming and watering. Not sure what they're gonna do about pit space because unless they harvest and mow some of the surrounding fields, pit space will be very limited.

WIDE OPEN w/ nice medium jumps and one big up hill triple (I've heard they made it easier since it took me out) and a intimidating doubles section right before the finish line. It's got a beautiful start and you can see most all of the track from one place.

Yeah I was really looking forward to running the national there. Also there are a lot of super fast guys from KY that don't get to run the nationals because of work/school or just whatever so be ready for fuller then ever classes.

DON'T READ IF YOU'RE FOLLOWING THE SERIES ON TV!

Joe Byrd comes home with the 2006 ATVA MX National Championship title with a 3rd overall at Ballance MX park... congratulations to Joe.
Gust with the overall on the weekend finishing 1-2...
Congratulations also to Jeremy Lawson for his first ever pro ATV moto win, and 2nd place finish overall.

I BELIEVE overall points standings for the season are:
1) Byrd
2) Gust
3) Little
4) Jones
5) Natalie

I've said it before and I'll say it again.....LAWSON DA MAN!!!!!!!!!! I've watched him since his first race and he's amazed me ever since. His second moto ride to the front was one of the best and most effortless looking race I've seen in guit some time. Watching him reel in Little then Gust, then Natalie. It was awesome to watch him then run away from Gust once he(Gust) got around John. I'm telling ya, Lawson has arrived and is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the Pro class. I'll post some pics as soon as I can, I must've snapped 50 of Jeremy! Also for all you DASA fans, Jeremy is running one of Dan's (who was in attendence) engines.

The only problem I have with Jeremy is that every National I have been to......for some reason when they are playing the anthem, he sits down on his bike with his helmet on and his hands on his lap.

That to me shows disrespect after looking at most of the other 19 pros on the line standing up with their helmets off and their hand on their heart. Maybe it's just that I am a hardcore American and respect everything that I have?

Huh, I never noticed that before. I'm always looking at the flag. For whatever the reason is he does it, I'm sure it not out of disrespect. I've know and raced w/ him since he started and know he is respectful of everyone and everything no matter what his feeling are towards it/them. I know that Ive sat through the anthem before because I was focusing on the task to come and couldn't hear the music through my helmet. I've personally lined up beside him before and recall him standing for the anthem as did I. We shook hands while still standing afterwards and wished each other luck then got down to business.
