I am just wondering if the ltr would be alright for trails. I mainly ride wide trails, but sometimes get into situations when theres really skinny trails. I am also wondering how good it would be going through some mud and water. I wont be racing, but I just really like the new ltr, so I might be buying one this weekend.

I say go for the ltr. You'll be very happy with your decision even if you get in a few situations where the trails are to tight.

I think this quads usefulness at trail riding depends on how you trail ride. I ride on some trails when I go to state parks. I fly down them at almost race speeds though when ever I can, that's how I "trail ride". While my wife's family who also ride consider trail riding to be putting along at 5-15mph looking at the scenery.

If you want to fly get the LTR if you want to put, get a nice comfy Utility quad.

Stock the suspension is pretty rough I found out the day after I got it. Many of the trails I ride on are rocky and the quad just bounced around and wore me out quickly. Also from a result of this the rear would be off the ground a lot so getting traction was also a pain.

Soften the suspension and this thing because a beast on the trails.

Also I had to watch out for rocks beacuse the stock swing arm guard just sucks so I was dodging rocks most of the day as well. Already have my PRM skidplate on order along with the cherry bomb.

Next is new tires (razr 2's) and wheels in the rear and I think this will be one nice trail quad.

Eventually I will get my shocks revalved but for now its decent trail quad.

Damstr pretty much nailed it. You'll definately need 20s in the back otherwise you'll be tagging rocks and small animals like crazy. I've got the CNCCs with a 13 front and I'm putting a 37 on the back to get a little more low end. Also I'd get a swing arm and belly skid plate. Oh, and get some had guards... I didn't and now I have a mesquite thorn in the top of my hand.

I rode my friends YZF450 and the LTR450 comes out way better; stance, power..it's just better.

So? Better then creating a topic that wouldn't be any different from this one. lol

I think its just better to keep everything together. IMO

Except for the originator has had an LTR pretty much since he started this topic! So... His question has already been answered and he owns one already...

Well then anyone else having the same disput as him can look here instead of creating a new topic.

Sorry man don't mean to argue...just thought it would be kind of pointless to make a new thread when there was already one here.

lol Not really, I've been using forums for about 4 1/2 years so I'm pretty familiar with them.

But thanks though. :) I think doing stuff like this helps keep re-occurring topics down.
