Well here in Guam no one carries Water Wetter(which I have always ran in pretty much everything) or Engine Ice... The only thing I have been able to find is Royal Purple's Purple Ice... I was wondering if anyone else has run it... Also it says on the back to run it with some anti-freeze still in the system for street vehicle... I drained and flushed the factory coolant out with regualr tap wate.r then emptied it and ran a half bottle of Purple Ice and filled it back up with distilled water... Will this stuff have the lubricating properties that anti-freeze has? And will flushing it out with tap water hurt it even though I filled it with distilled?

The only reason I think they suggest that you use distilled water is due to the fact the most tap water carry additives (chlorine) that can reek havok on your magnesium cases. I havent used the royal purple but I imagine its like any of the other super coolants. As for the "lubricating" properties of coolant, it is not designed to be a lubricant and is not used that way. The only moving part the coolant touches is the water pump. Other than that, your cooling system is one big ol tube. It circulates around the moving parts thereby cooling them much like a refrigerator coil. (i.e. the cool stuff raps around the hot stuff ultimate taking away the heat).

Now for the disclaimer: Im not a mech nor a pro racer, merely a dude talking to another dude sharing what he believes....even though it may be wrong

The main reason for distilled water is that the distilling process takes out all the minerals and other contaminates that do harm to the cooling system.

Yeah I know it needs some sort of lubricating... It might not be much and I knew water wetter provided that but I wasn't sure about the Royal Purple... After a little research I found out that it does... Also, as for the tap water... I know not to run it for cooling processes but is it cool just for flushing... Thats what I have always done but after reading a little on here I thought it might be bad...
