I ran without the seat one time at the drags, a difference you can feel. Then i took the airbox out and put on a k&n, it made it too lean to run. Too lean means more air :) I have a efi controller now to compensate. i think it will run a lot better than with the box in.

lids are a waste of money imo. Theres hardly ANY room between the seat and the top of the airbox. Not much if anything gets in there and putting on a filter lid restricts even more flow.

I know you guys are into cutting the airbox, but for us guys that may need to put the lid back on for really wet conditions it's not practical unless you have two airboxes. So my thinking is maybe grinding down the bottom of the seat to have more air getting into the top of the airbox. Instead of putting holes into the side. Well let me know what you guys think.

I used a holesaw and put a couple 2" holes on the right side and one 2" hole on the left side. I put the holes as close to the rim as I could so its hidden behind the plastic. This way you can still use the lid to wash the quad with and use duct tape to plug the holes for wet conditions and washing. The louver idea sounds interesting, do you have any pics, Jfarrar30?

That may be a great idea. I just want to see how much you can cut away from the seat pan. As you all know i dont have my bike to really check it out.
