Just did the final assembly after ripping off the 'black blob' and installed a CR Kill switch as a starter. My question is, on the new kill/starter switch, I had to ground 1 wire to the bars for it to work and was wondering since its grounded, am I sending current thru the whole bike frame each time I press the button? Just curious, dont want to fry any delicate electronics. Is this what everyone else is doing?
Oh yeah, for anyone else going to do this, you CAN NOT wire up the new switch with either of the 2 wires going to either of the 2 orange wires off the old wire bracket. I found that if I installed it 1 way(backwards), it would keep the starter cranking after the bike was started, but once you reverse the wires, the starter will stop after the bike starts. Just some $.02.
