Well I installed the cherry bomb and went for a cruise, the bike felt stronger but it was nothing to really get excited over. What do you guys think that the cb actually adds for hp? I don't want exaggerated numbers like 4-7hp either. I'm a good rider and pretty good engine tuner I could recognize that many hp, but this thing didnt gain very much! My business partner got an ltr the same time as me and we only removed his baffle and we were side by side. What do you think is up? Yes I installed it and followed all of Yoshis recommendations too.

I was under the impression the CHBM only gave about 1 HP by its self. It raises the rev limiter 500. All it does is it lets the computer run the race map already programmed into the computer. I have had doubts myself if mine was working!!! How can I check? The thing is I had two then sold one. In a way I hope mine is not working and a new will help! I couldnt tell a hill of beans when I installed it running 93 octane, but when I started running a higher octane I could feel the difference.

I been having problems with my cb also. I am running very very lean with the air lid off and sparky out. I have tried for 2 weeks to get a hold of someone at yoshimura that could help me out but everytime I actually got a hold of someone they would be clueless and send me to this guys voice mail but he hasn't responded to any of my messages.

I haved tried all the suggestions with no luck. I asked one guy at yosh if I could have a bad cb but he said that's impossible. I have still thought about buying a new one and see what happens but I will be even more upset it doesn't change my problems.

lots of backfiring and the head pipe glows cherry read while riding, and its runs very hot.

none of that means your running lean
just a little hint from someone who builds and tunes race motors for a living ;)

p.s. my head pipe was glowing cherry red just from sitting and idling the day i bought my r450, and it was 100% bone stock at the time. not even a cherry bomb and sparky was still in

I don't know if this was mentioned somewhere else or not, but completely disconnecting the battery terminals and touching both leads together (red wire and black wire) is somehow supposed to drain the EFI computer of any juice. After that, installing the cherry bomb will make a bigger difference than just hooking it up. I did the same thing, then found the info about touching the leads together and tried it myself and it made a difference. I know it sounds crazy, but it worked for me. I ride 15-20 hours a week, so I know how my bike feels.

LTurboR450 thanks for setting me strait I always assumed that when the pipes were glowing it meant you were running lean. But I got another question for you...what does all the white stuff (carbon?) doing inside the pipe. I read that somewhere it meant you were running lean.

Elburrodiablo I also read that and I'm going to try that. After you touched the leads together to you install the cb right away or did you run the bike stock first then plug it back it?

You're correct. The CRBM is only supposed to add about 1hp. It does as you stated, bypass the stock map and let the racing map kick in and gives you the extra 500 on the rev limiter as well as change the AF mixture.

I touched the leads together and before I hooked the battery back up I plugged in the Cherry Bomb. I think I read that your supposed to do it that way so when you re-energize the FI system, that it reads the cherry bomb instead of the stock map.
