1. problems (IF ANY) with your LTR
2. How big of a problem is the tranny whining noise?
3 is it common for the 06 tranny to blow?, ive only heard of 2 so far

I am thinking about getting one of these bikes, i know one person with one and he loves it, his tranny does make that whining noise though, i just wanted other peoples feelings, i can get a 2006 OTD for $6000 but if the 07 is going to be better with all the bugs worked out i would want to wait, im not sure if the one for $6000 has the frame update

thanks

Bought mine in March also, and did get the recall for the frame but it hasn't broken yet, no Tranny whines either.

yeah there were a few trannies blow and broke the case on at least one... its pinned somewhere.. oh yeah one of them is in the problem solved, one of our Aussie brothers was out almost 2 months with backordered parts..

mine has the whine but thats it..i am just glad i purchased the extended warranty...

the frame recall is a simple fix and the dealer may have already fixed it if it needed it.....

get it... you won't be dissappointed.....

First off from the people who have seen the '07 they are the same as the '06 with the fixed frame problem.

The tranny whine isn't an issue or problem so much as it's just unusual. The whine it's self has not been associated with any major tranny failure. Someone who raced ice races blew 4th or 5th gear and our Aussie pal has been back ordered on parts forever. I wouldn't give the tranny a second thought though.

The bike is a blast to ride. I don't think you will be disapointed.

so there are no real "Flaws" with the 2006 besides the frame? and the 07 will be exactly the same, is the extended warrenty worth it or does racing automacticly void it? im happy to hear the tranny isnt anything to be worryed about, i would just hate to buy an 2006 in a few weeks then see the 2007 with a lot of better upgrades. last question im sorry im full of them, but what about the tip over switch? does it kill the bike if it is flipped over? is there anyway you can bybass it or get it to start up after it is fliped over or do u have to go back to the trailer and take things off...?? thanks

Tip switch is when you flip the bike it will kill the electronics. If that happens, shut off bike, wait 3 secs, and restart. No need to mess with stuff.

I haven't been on here as often as I'd like to be lately so I may have missed some things, but I'm asking this just in case; just don't want to see improper info spread. But is there an announcement from Suzuki or anything of that sort that has listed all of the modifications between the 06 & 07 models? I know there hasn't been anything cosmetically changed on the machines, but I don't believe any of the owners on here would have checked to see if for example: Suzuki equipped 5th gear with a bushing like the rest of the gears or not?

It very well could be that they didn't change a damn thing and that would not surprise me - just wondering if there's been a link posted or something that listed only MINOR changes or anything like that from Suzuki?

I strongly agree, I know some people have had problems with it going up steep hills or something, but that will definitly save your butt if you flip and can't jump up imediatly. It only takes seconds to kill a motor upsidedown.
