I was checking over my LTR after I got done washing it and found that I had a some abnormal movement in the frontend. It was more like a torque wrench click kinda feeling. I checked the tierods...good, checked the ball joints....good, checked the stem bushings...good. Then I took notice that the movement was kinda diagonal. I found it to be my right upper a-arm front bearing. I checked the bolt and it was kinda snug but it didn't seam like it was tight enough. I tightened it up a lil more, not overkill or anything but more than it was. I thinking that I should replace it some near in the future though. SO I was wondering if anyone knew if the LTR A-arm bearing were compatible/interchangeable with the Z400 maybe?

Thanks
Aaron

hey guys,'

Does anyone know the part number 4 the bearings or where i can find after market ones. or another brand that fits...and the swingarm bearings aswell..

Pulled mine out to get em powdercoated, and the bearings are a 1 use thing..Suzuki said there $27.95 ea
And it will cost me $279.95 for the a-arm ones and the swing arms..

Not prepared to pay those prices...

Thats pretty much why I went with different a-arms...didn't like the whole 1 time use theme running through that front end...

What did you do about the ball joints?
[/b]

I've left the ball joints in and am using silicon or allfoil to cover them up..

The grease boots come off fairly easy..(becareful not 2 tear them,as there not replaceable)
Use degreaser to get all he grease out of em,so they dont boil in the oven(ruin the p/c )
Some people use silicon that can handle the heat,or i've heard wrap alfoil over the joint.
(on my banshee i=ones i didnt cover the joints with anything, there was p/c on them but i just worked them back and forth, the powder wore down and the joint worked fine..
repace the grease boot and chuck 'em back on..

Also tear some paper up and roll it so it fits in where the aarm bearings go,that way the powder wont get in there making it near impossible to get the needle bearing back in..

How did you get the grease back into the non-greasable ball joints?

FYI...they make powder coating tape designed to keep powder off of the parts you do not want it on...they also make silicone cap and plug kits to protect any holes or threads, etc...just information.

I've looked in a few parts books and nobody has them out yet, but I'll try calling tommorrow and see if they recently started giving them to parts unlimited.

All ball bearings are JUNK!!!!!!! I will never buy another one of there products again. Tried several and only got a few races out of each bearing type I tried.
