Has anyone run their quad on a paved drag strip? I am looking forward to doing this down at Houston Raceway Park pretty soon (soon as my leg heals), and I was wondering what to expect in the 8th mile.

I doubt THAT quick...my Duster ran a consistant 7.0 in the 1/8 so I doubt that a quad would only be a second behind it...but hey?...What do I know? :D

I'm rather experienced on this subject as I've had mine at the local 1/8th mile drag strip 3 times since I got it.
First time - stock exhaust, baffle out, ehs racing lid, and cherry bomb
Fastest time was 9.13 at almost 71mph

Second time - Yoshi Rs-5 full exhaust, ehs racing lid, cherry bomb, and 20" razr rear tires
Fastest time was 9.39 at almost 69mph (should have put on a 13t front sprocket I learned with the new tires)

Last night- Yoshi Rs-5 full exhaust, ehs racing lid, cherry bomb (because I can't get my PIM to work), and stock tires
Fastest time was 9.06 at 71.66mph (mind you this was still a bad start with the front end coming off the ground and the back end sliding sideways a bit as I kicked it into 2nd gear to bring the front back down. lol Beat a 04 yfz with esr intake, jetted, and cam mod who hit over 73mph that race.)

Hope this helps out somewhat. I can't wait to see what my time is with the PIM and my trinity intake that's on the way. Then at some point when I get the yosh cams and fimak. :D

9.0 is pretty impressive. That's faster than most cars. Yeah, yeah, I know you ALL have faster cars, I'm just talking about MOST cars, all stock cars.

If the quad tops out at 75 mph and it pretty much reaches that in the first 1/8 mile, this would calculate to a 15.0 @ 75 mph in the quarter. I bet it would be better to go up a tooth or two on the front sprocket to get some more top speed. You might suffer a bit in the first 1/8 mile, but the greater top speed may net a better 1/4 mile time.

Well i did 1/8 mile grass drags with my old 450r(piped and jetted was all) and was running 8.09 Seconds...with the LT-R I think I MIGHT be able to get under 8.

Yes, but 5.08 is not 8th mile. I was mainly interested in 8th mile times. If you ran 5.08 in the 8th, then I must ask, how did you bolt that small block on there? :D

you all need to go to planet sand forurm there are banshees running 550 in a eigth mile. at over 100 mph of course they have over a hundred horses to.

That's crazy... Last week when I was at my local drag strip there was a dragster (looks like a top fuel car but not that big of engine) that ran 4.99 at 139mph. Anywhere close to that on a quad seems insane, but something I would like to try. :D

OK...that website made a believer out of me...but yea, they were highly modified Banshee's..stretched and with wheelie bars...so they weren't really much of a quad were they???
