I have a 07 ltr with a 12.5 JE piston and stage one intake cam. two brothers slip on and a pciii fuel controller.

I have recently taken my top end back off for the third time now, 2 previous times didnt seem so bad. First time was to install the cam and piston. i cant seem to figure out why i keep blowing head gaskets but im pretty sure this is the worst. I drained the oil and there was a decent amount of coolant pouring out of the bottom two allen head drain screws. Not sure if its because of the 12.5 JE high comp piston or not but im looking to ask some of you before i go spend a bit of cash for them to tell me the same thing. I bought the quad a year old so im not sure if somone has gone into it before either. If you could help id be greatful

If you are using an OEM or better gasket and torqueing correctly and still blowing them, I would have the head checked. Maybe you have a small warp

looks like the head has been cleaned with a roloc type prep disc. If so, your head may not be flat anymore. If the deck of the cylinder has also been cleaned like that. the jug may need resurfacing as well. IMO only use a razorblade scraper(gently) and carb cleaner to clean the gasket surfaces.

hmmm ill have to have that checked out, do you think that would be safe considering of the high compression? do you think the scratch in the picture of the cylinder wall is alright as well? the place wanted 250 just to tear down an put together the top end which ive done before so i didnt really want to pay for that.. would you recommend me going back to a stock piston and then get them resurfaced?
