Fuel pressure regulator help and questions

Hey guys I'm new to the forum si be easy on me. I have an 07 ltr I was diagnosing the "sputtering" problem and got it down to the fpr or the fuel pump. I started with the fuel pump and ended up stripping the shoulder screws on the fuel pump housing. Anyways everything was clean in the fuel pump (all the screens) so I moved to the fpr. I could blow right through it and it holds little to no pressure before blowing off. So basically what I am trying to find out is can I clean the fpr or do I have to replace it. I've looked at aftermarket ones and I can't find a thread that shows where they are being mounted and etc... Another question is if I get an adjustable fpr can I adjust the fuel ratio for an exhaust and not get a fuel controller? Thanks alot guys

The FPR has 1 inlet and 2 outlets, one outlet will blow through, the bigger one is a return to the tank and should be open during testing. Still with that being said most likely it's a fuel pump. check other threads to find a good quality pump. most eBay pump replacements are junk. look up Quantum Fuel Systemsnfor a good quality fuel pump,, it's worth the extra $$

so I ended up getting a fuel pump but I still need the shoulder screws for the housing. Any idea on where to find them? And could you use the adjustable fpr to tune your bike for an exhaust?

I think om having the same issue. I bought this quad the other day and just my luck the bike bogs out but idles perfectly fine. I been working on it all damn day! Removed the swirl filter, cleaned the fuel pump, cleaned the injector, changed the plug seems its running worst. Last thing i havent done yet was the FPR. I read that you take it apart remove the spring and clean it. Once thats done and still have issues most likely its the pump. IDK how to test it but some one told me u can order a honda foreman pump for 60 bucks and use its internals on ours. Also my FI light comes on after like 5 seconds of turning the key on dont even need to start the quad. Gonna work on the FPR tmrw see what happens

If your FI light is coming on, you should first pull trouble codes and run thru the diag tree for the codes stored. Once thats all taken care of, and you're still having issues, then run thru the fuel pressure test as outlined in the manual.

If you need a pump do not get one from eBay, I have tried every one of them and their all JUNK!! I just tossed 8 of them that I have tried and only lasted a few rides.

This is the only aftermarket pump that I have found to work and keep working.
