Anyone here running Kenda Kutter XC tires?
Like the title says. Have you tried them, and how do you like them? I am currently running Razr2 front and rear, but would like more grip in the corners. I ride in the desert, but I find that when I do go to the track, the LTR slides too much in the corners and is sometimes hard to catch. I could pick up some speed if I had more side bite.
Opinions?

I've got a set and here's what I found. The compound is harder than the Razr2 and wears way better. The grip absolutely sucks unless you sipe the lugs, then they hook up. The sweet psi spot is around 3 for dezert. They get better grip in the wet than the Razr2s do. The sidewall is the weak link, I shoved a root through it leaving a big hole. I'd gone around that corner many times with the Razr2 and they just shrugged it off.
I'm running the Parker fronts and have to say they are the best. I've hit them with rocks, roots, mesquite thorns, bigger rocks and they just keep going. Also I get a full season out of one set. Going to switch to the Parker rears as my Razr2s are almost done after 4 months.

So, the Kutters are super hard, and don't hook up? That kinda sucks. They look like they are directional. Have you tried turning them around?
What did you use to put sipes in the knobbies? Did siping them cause them to wear any faster? Do you have any pics?
I'm kinda disappointed, because they are cheaper and lighter than the Razr2's They look like they have really tall knobbies like the RAZR2. Maybe I should just go back to regular RAZR's since they are cheaper, but from what I remember, they wear even faster than the Razr2 does.
I guess you gotta pay if you want to play. I was just hoping to find a tire that hooks up better than the Razr2 but doesn't wear out after a couple of hard rides....

Yup I tried both directions and lots of different pressures. I did the siping using a friends tire tool. The wear wasn't affected, for what I could tell, any at all. The Kutter is not a bad tire and I may have hit that root just perfect but for aggressive dezert racing they needed some help.

So, would you say that the Razr2's are about as good as it gets for aggressive desert riding and occasional track use? I'm surprised at how quickly they wear, given the fact that they don't exactly stick like glue. It would be nice to find a lighter tire that hooks up well and doesn't wear out after 2 or 3 hard rides.....

I think they are still a bout a pound lighter than the Razr2's. How long do they last?

I have been running my HD's for about 3 years, the tread is rounded but they still hook up because they still have a lot of tread left.
