Powder coating

Hi guys

I have OMF rims and have a hard time getting shiny after a mud track. I have to polish it regularly. I did find out about powder coating and the people say the process will buckle the rims due to the heat involved when powder coated. This is the only way I know that will be the toughest and will be able to take all the beating. Do you guys maybe know of any other tipes of spray painting that will do the job just as well? I also Q'd spray painting and people say that the paint will not stick to the pollished alli.

Who told you powder coating will warp your wheels? If the powder coater has any clue what they're doing, there's no danger of warping an aluminum wheel. That same BS rumor has been flying around in the automotive world for the last several years. It's just that, a rumor. BTW, what kind of finish do you think Suzuki puts on the black wheels that come on the limited edition LTRs? They are powder coated, not painted.

thought the same thing buddy. its just kind of worrying that the guys doing the powder coating says that it might happen. As if they do not want to take the wrap if something goes wrong.

you can do powder coating by yourself, just get on old conventional house oven and you can buy a "do it yourself" kit. also, i have had plenty of my parts powder coat, handle bars, clamps, wheels, wheel hubs, pegs, fender supports, ect.
