2004 LTZ 400, good? bad? input needed.

hey ya'l i've got a buddy looking at buying a quad and getting away from using his uncles utility quad, he's rode my 06 ltr 450 and loved it and has since been looking into the 04 era ltz 400 just to keep price down. what do you all have to say about the ltz in general? the motor, the suspension, the ride, just an overall opinion, and whats the major differences between the ltr and ltz??

heres a link to the one he's looking at...

I had an 03 (same thing) LTZ400, really good trail bike. I had a trinity stage IV exhaust, K&N Pro Flow intake and jet kit and it ran its ass off, put on a set of HoleShot GNCC's and I could go anywhere on it, sold it when I got my 06 LTR. Suspension/Handling is a night and day difference between the two.

heres a pic...

Great bike! Had an 04 myself, if he plans to MX it I highly suggest getting the Bare performance gusset kit as the frames aren't the strongest. Also check for an abnormal motor tick, the cam chains are known to stretch out prematurely. That's about it though, there pretty stout. These motors have a ton of potential and can compete fairly well.

plus one for BARE frame gussets even though I never had to get them, I guess I was one of the lucky ones that the upper shock mounts didnt fly off.
