Hi, My buddy is selling his. I don't know much about the tech side of these cars, but this one is in great shape. Its a 89, white, has the on-board adjustable shocks, manual trans. He up graded the head gasket to some race/aftermarket type, because these cars a known to blow head gaskets when you start putting some boost to the engine. He also up graded the exhaust and added a bigger turbo. The car is from VA, so it has never been in snow. Its in great shape for the price. He bought it for a great deal from his friend, then moved back home here in NY. Now he wants to build a truck, so the car is for sale. He wants $4000 for it. He lives in upstate NY, just above Albany.

ya id rather have an Evo if it were me. only thing that sucks is i feel they r way over-priced and i probly wouldnt buy a used one cause 99% of them have been hammered on/modded to hell etc. but they r def a solid car to have for fun/race etc.

You can find lots of properly modded/maintained EVO's. Those cars take a ton of abuse as well. I would not hesitate to buy a modded one, if it was the right car.

As for overpriced, i would ask compared to what?

of course there r Evos out there that are well-maintained but i'd still be cautious.

40k+ is too much for that car. i was considering getting one, but i dont feel the quality is anything that spectacular (i think a 350/370Z is a more quality car and its less) and i think that the stock performance isnt quite as good as i would want for a car that costs that much. a 08+ Cobalt SS/tc is just as fast or faster stock on a road course (see Road and track '08 tes and also look at Nuerberg lap times) and is nowhere near the sticker price of the Evo. granted, the Evo is nicer and has a ton of potential, but i would expect more if i was dropping 40k+ on a car. thats just me.

40k? Where are you shopping..lol You can get brand new evo's under 30k, and put that car into the 11's for 1k. What other car under 30k can handle like an evo, stop like an evo, and is even close to as fast $ for $ when modded? I could build a 550-600whp daily driver evo for 5k.

You can't even compare a 350/70z, it is a totally different car. It is meant to be a bit more luxurious, but they are slow as shit, and have ZERO potential, unless you feel like dumping allot of money into them..

Funny you should mention that though, as i have owned both cars, at the same time.. I HATED the g35. I bought it only because it was for my wife.

My evo was modded from the day it drove off the lot. I sold it at 35k miles, and it is still on the same motor today, 2 years later, and the new owner has not had one problem. Car made 440whp on 91 pump gas, closer to 5, on c16 race gas. I drove it HARD, but maintained it flawlessly.

Chris1- You can find used evo's under 20, for sure. Depending on what mods you want on the car, i would buy one close to where you want to put it. Ie if you want a stock turbo bolton car(intake, exhaust, cams, fmic, etc) then buy one with those mods, as then you wont have to dump that money into it.
