Fuel Pressure Regulator stuck open

ok i've read all the posts that say the FPR needs to be closed when you try and blow through it.

Mine is open, so i can blow through it

What will this do to the engine when it is running at idle and under heavy acceleration? No one has indicated what it will do (or none that I could find anyway)

I'm tracking down a major bogging issue and have found this as one possible issue

Thanks in advance

Sounds like you found your culprit. You're fuel pressure will be low with a bad FPR like yours, and will cause a lean condition probably worse under load.

ok well here is an interesting scenario.

I have 2 LTR's...an 07 and an 08.

The 07 is the one is question here with the major bogging problem and the open FPR.

I checked my 08 FPR last night also....I could also blow through it but not as freely as the 07 model. However the 08 LTR runs very very well.

Should it run well with an FPR that would appear to be open?

Blowing thru it is only a quick check. From there to get an accurate diagnosis you need to test fuel pressure and volume.

ok thanks for that

I am getting my fuel injector cleaned today, I have cleaned all the crap out of the bottom of the fuel pump and temporarily removed the swirl filter (as it was really clogged with stuff) so I will see if this works before outlaying $$ for a new FPR

Cheers
