Wiring fan to toggle switch

My fan never stays on when the quad cuts off and rarely cuts on at all. I want to cut it on at will so i got a toggle switch, its 3 prong(12v, source, GRND) and i cant for the life of me make this thing work, the LED light comes on in the switch but the fan does nothing, help me wire it up.... Ideas?

The fan relay applies a ground to make the fan come on. Test your toggle with a DVOM. and find the 2 terminals that have continuity only when in the on position. Then splice one wire into the black with a red and one into the black with a white coming out of the relay connector.

ok, Try this.

Attach the 'source' terminal to a wire to the frame. Then attach the 12v terminal to a wire that is spliced into the black wire with a red tracer at the fan relay harness. See if that works.

I did this with mine two weeks ago! amazing man i love it and my quad loves it to, just dont leave it on to long when you shut it off, with a tester, with fan on all the time does not take any votage out of battery! keeps fully charged during a full 5hour practice session and two race motos god i loved when i came up with that idea sitting in my garage

i just did this to my friends raptor 700 . His fan never came on.

get a 3 prong switch. 3 wires.
2 wires to battery , hot and neg.
then your main 3rd wired from switch to the pre existing fan motor wire.

( to find the fan motor wire, simply turn key on , take a test light, find the hot one, and tie the wire from the fan to the switch. )

On the LTR, you will find that key and thumb switch on will give you 12 volts at both wires to the fan. Then when the relay is energized the ground is applied to the circuit to turn the fan on.
