Very Strange - HELP
Have searched endlesley but cannot find anything that describes my problem. I am getting an intermitent noise from my bike, bike runs well sounds well until i then get a grinding type noise. It sounds something like a stone maybe bouncing about in between the wheel/disc etc, i turn the bike off and free wheel and the noise is still there which makes me think its not engine ? My friend thinks its crank bearing or such like related but i cannot understand it. I have taken the wheel of but there are no stones etc, i know this may sound dumb but we cannot work out what it is.
Can anybody help at all, i have drained all oil and there are no metal particles at all in the oil.
GETTING VERY FRUSTRATED

Have been told it may be heat related, when engine gets hot it could be a bearing or something ? Again it sounds sweet though and there was no metal paticles in oil and its only intermitent!!!!!!

Maybe a loose skid plate causing a metal to metal vibration?

well if it's on the wheel it will have nothing to do with the engine warming up. It could be a skid plate, mine make crazy noises. Or you may have rocks in your tire. Take the tire off and shake it, see if you hear anything. I have little rocks in my front tires. Other than that my guess would be bearings

Thats the thing, we dont know or cant work out where it is coming from. To me it sounds like the front wheel when im riding the bike but as we know how noise transfers around the bike. It sounds like i said, a bearing or something grinding but to others as i was riding up to them it sounded like the engine. I will just have to ride it until it happens again and try and pin poin the area. A couple of people have sinced looked at it but no noise!!!! Argh!!!!
